This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic Mental Health Practitioner to join the Lewisham Community Mental Health Neighbourhood 3 Team. Due to a review of the skill mix, this post is only open to Qualified Nurses.

The post-holder will conduct assessments and follow up of newly referred adults to the Community Mental Health Team. They will undertake the responsibilities of a Mental Health Practitioner within the Care Programme Approach for a defined caseload of service users and their carers. They will provide evidence-based psychosocial interventions and will focus on engagement, recovery and social inclusion as well as addressing physical health care needs.

The successful candidates will be experienced registered nurses who are able to demonstrate a specific interest in working with people with a variety of significant mental health difficulties.

Job Purpose:

4)Interventions:To provide and facilitate health and social care interventions tailored to individual service-user needs. To ensure all interventions are appropriate and that care is sensitive to the needs of black and minority ethnic service users. To facilitate Intensive Caseload Management for difficult to engage and high-intensity users. To provide psycho-education to services-users. To have a client-centred approach with a focus on recovery and social inclusion



5)Families andCarers: To involve families and carers in treatment plans where appropriate. This may require direct family interventions. To ensure that the needs of carers are assessed and that care services are provided as necessary. To provide families and carers with psycho-education.



6)MDT Working:To work in co-operation with members of the multi-disciplinary team and all other relevant health professionals to assess, develop, implement and evaluate high quality packages of client centred care. To participate in the team duty system. To provide cover for colleagues in their absence. To form effective relationships with inpatient services to facilitate early effective discharge. To participate in Mental Health Act assessments of service users that you are responsible for as appropriate. To take part in all clinical meetings.

7)Communication:To maintain accurate clinical documentation on designated caseload ensuring case notes are updates in line with guidance. To ensure effective verbal and written communication with all involved with delivery of care. To liaise with other disciplines and organisations to ensure that all issues affecting service user care are managed and communicated to a high standard.

8)Personal Development:To remain up to date with current/emerging good practice guidelines and relevant research relating to community mental health services. To abide by the policies of SLaM NHS foundation Trust and Local Authority. To contribute to effective MDT working. To meet regularly with Team Leader. Clinical Work alongside the Lead Clinician Community Paediatrician to lead the delivery of a high quality clinical service, providing screening and monitoring of ADHD and associated conditions Follow up diagnosed children, young people and families/carers in a nurse led clinic, monitoring clinical outcomes and encouraging uptake of medication or non-pharmaceutical support, using highly-developed communication skills Use clinical reasoning skills, knowledge and experience to provide specialist support and advice to the team, other medical /health colleagues and to external agencies such as education, social care and the voluntary sector Work as a non-medical prescriber on completion of the course, with responsibility for working within agreed medication protocols and offering non-medical interventions on a wide range of associated conditions Ensure that clinical practice is standardised to a high level across the team, based on best practice and up-to-date policies, procedures and guidelines Leadership & Management Lead by example, promoting best practice and high standards at all times Work with the Lead community paediatrician for ADHD to ensure effective operational procedures are in place which support service standards Line manage direct reports, including recruitment, induction, appraisal, learning and development and retention of staff as well as managing sickness and absence, disciplinary and performance issues that may arise Provide day-to-day supervision of other allocated staff, including students and bank/agency staff Provide day to day management of rotas and workload, ensuring team members and allocated staff understand individual roles, responsibilities and scope of practice Ensure that line-managed and supervised staff maintain accurate, appropriate and contemporaneous clinical records in line with local and national policy and professional guidelines Service Development Promote multi-disciplinary team approaches to patient care, identifying and implementing processes to ensure better patient outcomes Monitor and improve performance through the use of quality metrics e.g. Qliksense Promote the use of evidence-based practice in service delivery and ensure there is an infrastructure to support this Critically evaluate evidence-based research and integrate new theory into practice Work with the Performance Team to drive service improvement through the identification and implementation of a range of clinical and process audit Educational Supervise and assess allocated students, trainees and other staff, maintaining a high-quality learning environment and contributing to organisational recruitment, retention and career pathways. Plan, design and deliver individual and group training sessions in specialist area to clinical staff and other stakeholders. Take a pro-active approach to the development of clinical skills within the service whilst maintaining and developing personal clinical skills. Identify service specific training needs and plan training programmes for team members, using clinical skills and experience to support colleagues with development of their own skills and knowledge, within scope of practice. Act as an expert resource for skill mix staff and external stakeholders Maintain and update professional knowledge and skills to promote good outcomes for children, young people and families managing ADHD and associated conditions. Personal development plan should demonstrate a commitment to developing own clinical, management and leadership skills and will include sourcing/undertaking training as well as remaining up to date with relevant policies and procedures. Risk, Governance and Quality Support the delivery of high-quality care across the service by implementing and contributing to policies, procedures and guidance, based on specialist knowledge, research and best practice. Ensure that all practices within the service are in accordance with the relevant professional bodys code of professional conduct as well as BHCs professional and statutory rules, codes, policies and guidelines. Ensure that child and adult safeguarding standards are adhered to across the team. Maintain awareness of Child Protection issues at all times, keeping up to date on relevant legislation including the Children Act and local Bromley Safeguarding Children Board guidelines and London Child Protection Procedures Monitor and report on standards of delivery of care within the team, escalating and/or actioning as appropriate Support CQC assessments as required, working with Community Paediatrics Clinical Lead and Heads of Nursing to ensure CQC compliance across the service Maintain NMC registration/revalidation as required and work within NMC guidelines relating to current nursing practice e.g. code of professional conduct, standards for the prescribing and administration of medicines, scope of professional practice and guidelines for records and record keeping

Our client based in South London are currently recruiting for a Corporate H&S Officer to join their internal team as soon as possible.

This is a full time, ongoing, temporary role with the ideal candidate having experience of H&S within an Internal and Corporate environment.

The purpose of the role is to be responsible for providing health and safety advice that ensures the organisations compliance with health and safety legislation, developing and writing safety policies and procedures and reviewing reports sent to Corporate Health and Safety.

We are looking for an officer to assist Corporate Health and Safety in undertaking their duties in relation to this project. This will include arranging and attending meetings, undertaking risk assessments, record keeping, and answering queries received. As part of their role, the officer will be expected to liaise with colleagues across the organisation to provide advice and assist them in pushing actions forward.

Summary of main responsibilities and duties:

• To provide advice and support to staff on this project.
• To undertake risk assessments.
• To undertake administrative tasks, such as arranging meetings and coordinating attendees for training.
• To undertake actions identified for Corporate Health and Safety in regards to this project.
• To undertake under any other activities required to support Corporate Health and Safety in meeting its responsibilities. As part of the organisations hybrid working approach, the organisation have adopted a flexible approach to homeworking.
