Integrated pathways are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate candidate to join the department of Older People’s Services at Ipswich Hospital, part of East Suffolk and North East Essex foundation nurse consultant. The post holder will be an experienced advanced level practitioner with a non-medical prescribing qualification, autonomous, expert skills in assessment, examination and providing diagnosis and management for patients across acute and community settings.

There will be an integral link with our reactive emergency assessment community team working towards conveyance and admission avoidance.

You will practice in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team and play an integral role in leading service development. The nurse consultant would managethe full frailty team as well as the community hospitals ACPs and ensure continuous development of clinical practice, research and standard of care. The development of the integrated frailty service will includedeveloping policy, guidelines and pathways to ensure older and frail people have seamless access to the right care in the right place at the right time.

We are looking for a Dentist to cover a locum assignment with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), at Honington Dental Centre, in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk.

This is a locum role (37 hours per week) and the successful candidate will deliver an exceptional standard of care to the MoD service personnel.

Job Description – Service Requirements
• To work independently and to provide both a full range of dental treatment to maintain oral health and to undertake related general administrative duties where required to work towards improving and maintaining the dental health and operational fitness of personnel for whom they are providing care for.
• To assist the Senior Dental Officer (SDO), when present, or operate independently to achieve dental fitness targets, for all entitled personnel, as detailed in the SG Policy and Standards Document (P&SD).
• To ensure that not less than 6.5 hours per day in 2 sessions are set aside for direct patient contact.
• To ensure that all treatment is correctly recorded on the electronic health record and any relevant FMed documents

Essential Requirements / Qualifications / Experience
• Fully registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) without restrictions.
• Certified completion of Foundation Training in Dentistry in the UK, or have evidence of at least 12 months full-time postgraduate clinical experience derived in a primary dental care setting, or have qualified before foundation training became compulsory in the NHS.
• Must hold valid suitable and appropriate indemnity insurance with a recognised dental defence organisation.
• Must provide evidence of clinical currency in accordance with JSP 950 Leaflet 4-1-4 Returning to Clinical Practice, specifically a minimum of 2 clinical sessions per week over the last 15 months.
• To have completed GDC highly recommended Continuing Professional Development (CPD) including medical emergencies, safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, disinfection and decontamination, radiography and radiation protection.
• To be trained and current in emergency and resuscitation procedures and have practised and tested these procedures at least annually in accordance with Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines and JSP 950 Leaflet 4-6-1 DMS CPR Standards and Training.
• Must have undertaken the additional health clearance checks for clinicians required to perform Exposure Prone Procedures (in accordance with the Department of Health policy entitled “Health clearance for tuberculosis, hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV: New Healthcare Workers”).
• Must be in date and able to provide certification for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Safeguarding Adults up to and including Level 3 training.

This is a whole time post consisting of 11.5 Programmed Activities (or equivalent for Consultant Clinical Scientist) which can include on-call commitments. This post attracts 8 are for direct clinical care (DCC), 2 supporting professional activity (SPA), and an additional 1.5 PA is paid for the out-of-hours on-call commitment (1:5) attracting at the highest frequency rate.

The team work closely together and all have infection control responsibilities as part of normal clinical responsibilities.

Specialist roles such as Infection Control Leads and Antimicrobial Stewardship leads are expected to be rotated around clinical colleagues under agreement and will be factored into DCC for the purpose of job planning.

Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the department/hospital in consultation with clinical colleagues. If the person appointed elects to undertake a maximum part-time contract, they will be required to devote substantially the whole of their professional time to the duties of the post.

Consultants who are not required to be on-site for clinical duties are able to work remotely, and some aspects of the Colchester site clinical service may be provided remotely as well on rotation with other members of the service.

You will be working alongside an experienced team of vets with a wide range of special interests, many of whom are certificate holders or are working towards additional qualifications. This includes vets with medical and surgical certificates, AVPs, orthopaedics, ultrasonography and equine medicine. The nursing team is equally skilled, with members who have developed their own areas of special interest, including certificates on nutrition and anaesthetics, as well as clinical coaches.. We are lucky enough to have our own night team, however day nurses are also expected to cover holidays/sickness for the night team there is a rota in place for this and usually only works out 2-3 nights a year.

This role promotes theSNEEJoint Formulary, medicines governance processes and co-ordinates a range of medicines optimisation work to implement local and national priorities acrossSNEE working collaboratively with other members of the interface pharmacy team across SNEE. You will work across theIntegrated Care System(ICS)to manage the entry of new drugs, resolve interface prescribingissues,andpromote formulary adherence acrossSNEE.


You should have relevant experience in primary and/or secondary care and a good clinical background.Strong communicationskills and ability to build andmaintaingood working relationships with avariety of stakeholders are also essential. An understanding of formulary management, experience of implementing change and critical appraisal skillsisalso desirable for this post.


This post will be based at Ipswich Hospital however you will be expected to work cross-site. Internal candidates will be offered a secondment position only.

This role is integral toprovidingexpert advice on medicines at the healthcare interface by developing strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure the use of medicines that meets the needs of the patients in SNEE ICS.

You willbe responsible forpromoting the development and implementation of clear medicines governance processes across the ICS to ensure safe,effectiveand cost-effective use of medicines and meet all related legal requirements.


You will lead,developand manage the SNEE Joint Formularyin collaboration with the ESNEFT Lead Pharmacist forHigh CostDrugs and Medicines Optimisationfor the managed entry of new drugs through the formulary processes, chapter review, the Traffic Light System and related shared care protocols.

In addition, you will support and manage the local implementation of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) work programme particularly for medicines used across the interface within SNEE ICS.
