Quality Engineer | Leamington Spa | Full Time - 4 days per week, 10 hours per day | £35,000-£37,000 per year
Tecman Speciality Materials Ltd is a rapidly growing manufacturing SME, focused on end-to-end support of its customers from engineering and technical support to high volume manufacturing. Predominant industries are both Wind Energy and Automotive with a particular focus on the rapidly evolving EV market. Working directly with OEM’s we become a trusted advisor to all functions supporting our customers to lead in their field.
You will be responsible for all daily quality activities, including goods inspections, inline product inspections, and final packing inspections before dispatch. Key duties include: measuring products for conformity to specifications, resolving problems to restore conformity and implementing immediate containment actions for nonconforming products.
You will have full authority to stop production to ensure product quality and can move freely throughout the site to address issues. You will work with multiple departments to ensure quality requirements are met.

• PPAP requirements.
• IMDS (Preferred).
• ISO 9001/IATF16949:2016 knowledge.
• Statistics Knowledge.
• Internal Auditor Trained (Preferred).
• 8D problem Solving experience.
• Keyence measuring equipment awareness.
What will your role look like?
• Ensure timely completion of all Quality Engineer tasks on-site.
• Mentor and support team members as needed.
• Coordinate receipt, response, and monitoring of customer reports, ensuring containment actions, root cause analysis, and long-term solutions are implemented, and keep all parties informed.
• Provide technical and quality support to manufacturing for efficient production meeting quality requirements.
• Conduct and monitor quality process audits and implement corrective actions.
• Provide necessary documentation and comply with Tecman and customer requirements (e.g., APQP, PPAP, FMEA).
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of all quality-related documentation.
• Prepare documentation for evaluating and tracking quality performance (e.g., PPM, internal/external audits).
• Collaborate with the Quality Manager to identify and source new equipment.
• Train and induct new Quality Department staff.
• Keep operational personnel informed about quality standards and concerns to maintain quality.
• Communicate and coordinate quality data and findings with all internal departments to ensure compliance.
• Propose new methods for implementing and controlling quality standards to improve quality performance.
• Support the preparation and maintenance of IATF/ISO compliant documentation and systems.
• Ensure personnel understand and follow the Quality System and plant procedures.
• Coordinate and interpret statistical information to comply with customer requirements.
• Ensure product inspection procedures and documentation are accurate and traceable.
• Regularly review and update FMEA and Control Plan, and inform relevant personnel of changes.
• Ensure process instructions contain detailed and accurate quality information.
• Review procedures when 8D’s, APQP, or any product/process changes occur.
• Manage Customer Portal requirements and inform relevant personnel.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures and legislation.
• Work collaboratively to uphold and improve teamwork within the company.
