About The Role
OCS Group is looking to recruit Security Officers to work at a world-renowned Scientific Research Institute in Hinxton, Cambridgeshire. Successful applicants must be able to provide an efficient and professional security service to the campus clients and visitors, demonstrating the highest level of customer service.

The vacancy is for a full-time Security Officer working 56 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern working 12-hour shifts 3 days, 3 nights, and 3 off, including weekends and public holidays. You will be working on a 3-day-on-3-day-off shift pattern, 56 hours per week on a permanent, full-time basis. Roles and Responsibilities

• Undertake Internal and external foot patrols.
• High level control room monitoring of access control, CCTV and alarm systems.
• Ensuring all procedures, site/assignment instructions and SOP's are followed at all times
• Site entry, car park barrier control and traffic Management.
• After hours Reception duties
• Accurate report writing using computer based software

Skills and requirements

• SIA Licence (manned guarding or door supervisor) essential and CCTV Licence desirable
• Previous Security experience would be desirable but not essential
• Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal English are essential.
• Smart and professional appearance, good observational and customer service skills are essential
• Ability to use your own initiative and work as part of a diverse team
• Computer literate in MS word, Excel and Outlook
• Clean UK Drivers Licence and own reliable transport are essential as no access to public transport in the area
• Physically capable of undertaking foot patrols totalling 15,000 steps per shift

The successful candidate will work closely with a range of stakeholders, notably the Building Preservation Trust, to promote and facilitate the conservation of the city’s historic environment. This will be achieved by fostering a relationship with property and landowners to improve and secure their heritage assets and, where necessary, undertake enforcement action under the planning acts.

• Liaise with Building Preservation Trust, Ward Councillors, members of the public and other stakeholders to identify buildings and other Heritage Assets that may require support/enforcement.
• Signpost heritage asset owners to potential sources of support and funding.
• To provide sound advice in respect of enforcement and planning law, policy and guidance, following standard procedures, best practice and corporate objectives.
• To critically appraise and recommend decisions on formal applications and enforcement complaints under planning and associated legislation (including those relating to listed buildings, conservation areas, tree preservation orders, advertisements, hazardous substances etc), together with any plans or supporting documentation supplied, to ensure compliance with appropriate legislation and approved policies.

Role: Prison Security Escort

Location: HMP Chelmsford

Standard Rate: £12.09 per hour + 33 days holiday pay

Overtime rate: £18.15ph (overtime after 37.5 hours)

Duration: Temporary with the potential to be long term

As a Prison Security Escort, you will work alongside the prison service, supporting our client who is responsible for the maintenance of the buildings. You will be a part of security team where you will escort and oversee contractors such as carpenters, plumbers and electricians, whilst they complete their maintenance work.

Duties of a Prison Security Escort Include (but not limited to)

• Checking the identification of the contractors
• Booking in and out of the contractors
• Escorting contractors through the prison to their place of work
• Overseeing contractors whilst they are working
• Checking contractor tools are all accounted for prior to leaving work area
• Using the radio to request permission to move contractors within the prison
• Checking contractors have been briefed on security measures

About You:

• You will have good communication skills

• Be able to pass security vetting (includes providing references, passing security police checks & providing photo identification)

The Role

The successful post holder will be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of legal advice within the Employment Section, where you will be expected to build strong relationships with internal and external partners. This position will be fast-paced and it is therefore imperative you are confident in handling a full caseload consisting of both contentious and non-contentious employment law matters including, but not limited to, the following matters:

- Discrimination claims

- Unfair dismissal

- TUPE

- Restructures and redundancies

- Trade union provisions

- Pensions experience desirable although not essential.

The successful applicant will be a qualified solicitor or barrister, ideally with a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification (although qualified solicitors or barristers with less than 2 years' post qualification will also be considered) and a member of the appropriate professional body. The post holder must have significant commercial awareness to contribute to the development of new external streams of business and the ability to build excellent working relationships. This role is working within the Dispute Resolution and Employment Law Team.

Service/Functional Accountabilities

As part of the Essex Legal Services' Dispute Resolution and Employment Law team, the post-holder will be responsible and accountable for:

• Providing timely and accurate legal advice across the Council and to external clients, including constructively challenging and exploring alternative options where appropriate to produce the best possible outcomes.
• Delivering outcomes against the business plan for legal services, which supports and drives the Council's wider Organisation Strategy and vision.
• Acting as a legal practitioner and advocate providing specialist advice, professional consultation and support to colleagues (where appropriate) within your team.
• Understanding client needs and providing them with a service they value; driving the delivery of productivity and efficiency improvement.
• Maintaining and actively progressing a full and varied caseload.
• Supporting the development of current and future business opportunities, to promote the Essex Legal Services' vision to the external market.
• Building strong working relationships across the team, the Council, schools, other local authorities and the private sector to ensure a quality advice service is provided to the customer.
• Understanding and performing delegated functions as detailed in the Council's constitution (and as amended from time to time).
• Specific individual and shared targets and objectives that are defined annually within the performance management framework.

The Experience You Will Bring

• Qualified solicitor/barrister with current membership of the Law Society or Bar Standards Board.
• Evidence of continuing professional development, 2 years post-qualified experience and expert knowledge in relevant professional area (although lawyers with less post-qualified experience will be considered).
• Experience of working within a legal setting in a politically sensitive environment, providing high-quality advice to a wide range of clients.
• Experience of a full range of employment law matters including but not limited to dealing with employment tribunals, unfair dismissal claims, discrimination matters, disciplinary and grievances, capability issues and TUPE.
• Commercial awareness with sufficient professional credibility to maintain the existing client base.
• Ability to work and think independently while maintaining focus on delivering team and corporate objectives.
• Proven track record of building strong working relationships across a large, complex organisation and with internal and external partners/stakeholders and clients.
• Ability to provide clear and succinct advice on complex matters to both to both the client base and junior colleagues.
• A strong focus on outcomes to achieve strategic objectives.

As the Security Assurance Coordinator, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage security assurance activities within the organisation. This entails coordinating efforts to ensure compliance with HMG’s security classification system while delivering innovative, cost-effective, and profitable solutions.

The role will involve two main areas: Information Assurance and Information Security. Your responsibilities include implementing measures to protect and safeguard critical company information and systems, ensuring integrity, availability, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation. Additionally, you'll work to prevent unauthorised access, usage, disclosure, alteration, disruption, and destruction of information and systems, all aimed at achieving data integrity, availability, and confidentiality objectives.



Role Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Coordinate security accreditation and assurance processes for new and enhanced services.
Support the completion of IT Health Checks (ITHC), MOD assurance activities, and JSP processes.
Support junior members of the information security team.
Maintain the Information Security Management System (ISMS) including Risk Management and Accreditation Document Sets (RMADS) and Company Security Policies.
Identify and manage risks to the Company's information security, collaborating with the Senior Information Security Manager.
Plan and execute information security compliance activities, including monitoring Information Assurance and coordinating protective security activities.
Act as Incident Manager during security incidents, coordinating business recovery/contingency plans and investigations.
Support the delivery of the Company’s Information Security awareness, education, and training programme.
Coordinate with suppliers, consultants, and service providers on security matters.
Represent information security on relevant project workgroups and boards, and ensure compliance through continual audit and policy review.
Conduct security exercises and oversee follow-up actions.


Education and Experience Requirements

As the Security Assurance Coordinator you will have:

Working towards or qualified in CISSP/CISA/CISM is desirable, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience in risk and regulatory frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO27001, MOD JSP440, JSP604.
Proven track record in Information Security and Assurance.
Initiative, pro-activity, and strong teamwork skills.
Flexibility to adapt to changing organisational requirements.
Excellent communication skills to influence employee behavior and perceptions.
Proficiency in leveraging technology for effective security solutions.
Experience in managed service environments, with awareness of ITIL best practices.


UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance is required for this position. Candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain DV clearance.

HMP Huntercombe is an adult male prison holding foreign nationals.
We are currently looking for an operational support grade to work Permanent Nights within the Operational team. You will be required to work 7 consecutive nights, then will receive 7 days off. You will typically be lone working.
The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities and duties:

• Night Duties: ensure cell doors are locked/secure and all prisoners are safely accounted for
• Carry out regular and effective patrols as required by the Night Orderly Officer and Local Security Strategy
• Undertake wing patrols, pegging, and observation of prisoners including those on Assessment Care in Custody & Teamwork (ACCT), or Cat A and E list prisoners as detailed by the Night Orderly Officer and in accordance with the Local Security Strategy
• Log any events in the observation book, wing case notes and Security Information Reports (SIRs) as appropriate.
• Carry out and report roll checks as detailed by the Night Orderly Officer
• Work within the Wing Offices as detailed
• Give a full briefing of the night's events at handover
• Undertake administrative duties relating to area of work as required
• Respond appropriately to invoke emergency procedures in line with Local Security Strategy (LSS) and National Security Framework (NSF), utilising knowledge of local contingency plans and the actions required in relation to incidents. Any initial decisions or actions will need to be referred to management for further action.

Please note the rate for this role is £14.31 per hour inclusive of holiday (opportunity to do overtime as and when required).

Your new role
Your role of an OSG will be to carry out security and support practices for operational purposes throughout the prison establishment. Responsibilities will include working on the prison gate, welcoming and checking-in visitors, escorting people around the premises and general assistance and administration throughout the day. You will also carry out vehicle checks and monitor CCTV. You will also be required to assist with the new enhanced gate security check including body checks/ scanning etc… Although you will not be required to manage and maintain prisoners, you will see them on site.
Other duties include:
- Escorting contractors & vehicles
- Checking & searching for visitors
- Radio handling
- Supervision of visitors
- Patrolling perimeter and grounds
- Routine administrative work
- Contractor tool checks
- Searching for buildings
- Canteen and kit exchange duties
- Health & Safety procedures
- Radio operation

Shift patterns include weekdays (between 7am-9pm) and every other weekend.
You must be able to drive due to the shift patterns.
Standard: £14.31 p/h inclusive of holiday
Weekday overtime outside your rota'd hours: £21.59p/h inclusive of holiday
Weekend overtime outside your rota\'d hours: £26.60 per hour inclusive of holiday
