As a Project Engineer, we are seeking commercially aware and self-motivated candidates to manage the end to end delivery of small to medium sized engineering projects on Thames Water’s operational sites.

Our Project Engineers manage all aspects of their projects including initial scoping of the need, competitively tendering the work, contractor procurement, site set up and inductions, and health and safety inspections, through to commissioning, training and handover to the operations teams. You will have advice and support from our subject matter experts, experienced colleagues, and health and safety advisors in the delivery of your projects.

What you will be doing as a Project Engineer

- Managing and delivering a portfolio of Mechanical, Electrical and ICA projects, with a typical value of £40,000 to £400,000 per project.
- Responsibility for up to 10 live projects at any one time, with further projects in the scoping and tendering phase.
- Developing innovative and modern solutions to operational problems, making our sites more efficient and delivering value for money for our customers.
- Working with our operations teams and contractors to scope, define and cost solutions that are both cost effective and have minimal risk.
- Promoting our zero-compromise attitude to health and safety and striving for continuous improvement at all times.
- Complying with our Health and Safety requirements, and ensuring that all projects comply with the Construction, Design and Management Regulations (CDM).
- Working collaboratively with delivery partners and contractors to ensure that schemes deliver on time.
- Maintaining compliance with our Asset Standards, associated British & International Standards and professional codes of conduct.
- Financial forecasting of all live projects and reporting on value of work done (VOWD).
- Drafting, vetting and approving pre-construction information, project programs, risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), and construction phase plans (CPP).
- Overseeing the commissioning, training and handover of completed projects to the operations teams.
- Ensuring that completion documents are available and handed over including test certificates, operation and maintenance manuals, health and safety files, and as-constructed drawings.

For this role, you will receive a car allowance, so a driving licence is required.

Location – Beckton STW, East London.

Hours of work are 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

What you should bring to the role

- Have experience or have a formal qualification in mechanical, electrical or civil engineering.
- Additionally, you will have the ability to work with minimum supervision, be self-motivated and driven, and use your own initiative to deliver high quality work.
- Experience in project management and the delivery of engineering projects is critical, as is an awareness of health and safety standards with particular reference to construction works including CDM.
- If you have experience in the waste or water utilities industry, this would be highly advantageous.

See Job Description and Person Specification Duties and Responsibilities The post holder will undertake the following duties and responsibilities.Create and maintain good working relationships with teams within IT and help support peers resolving estates issues requiring IT intervention. Be a specialist point of contact and provide expert guidance on estates schemesbased on experience and ensure key stakeholders are kept up to date and sign off on any new project initiation.Attendance on all PMO related calls requiring close working with multiple internalservice lines imparting and communicating complex information.Manage, deliver, and hold accountability for assigned IT PMO estates portfolio / projects.Adhere to ICB internal process to produce estates quotes as necessary ensuring governance around financial conduct, processes and any internal sign-off.Organising the project management structure and workstreams for each individualproject / portfolio activity.Overseeing the full implementation of the projects ensuring delivery againstestablished milestones to time.Liaison with 3rd party suppliers, estates leads, PCN leads, GP practice managersand other stakeholders relevant to the estates initiative. Imparting complex IT estates information persuading and gaining buy in from parties where there is disagreement on the way forward.Budgetary management including reporting as part of project governance to finance /ITPB / local checkpoints.Develop business cases / PIDs utilising experience to alert on any key risks, workingwith Estates leads as required.Analyse, prepare and present (inline with current ICB templates) key projectgovernance artifacts (not limited to) such as lessons learnt log, RAID log, highlight reports, exception reports.Help to keep the PMO portfolio updated with progress of all related works ensuringSMT teams are able to report on progress when required.Setup / chair / attend (as required) any IT PMO/ Programme / Project level meetingswith relevant audience.Work with finance teams to raise any relevant POs or invoice queries ensuring leadsare notified of progress and any risk to timelines.Work with internal asset / logistics teams to be able to report on any stock levels or supplier hardware quotations including updated pricing or delivery mechanisms.Attend Premise Control Group meetings (as required) to ensure IT Estatesrequirements are catered for or understood by the wider directorates.Ensure adherence to cabling standards and relevant systems as widely used within the ICB.

Experis have partnered with a brilliant client in the South West looking to recruit a Business Analyst to join their team with a focus on BI and MI projects. This role will be instrumental in driving data-driven decision-making across our client through analyzing, developing and delivering actionable insights. As a key link between stakeholders and technical teams, you will work to understand business needs, translate requirements, and contribute to the strategic development of BI and MI capabilities.

This is an initial 6 month contract Inside of IR35. There will be scope for a few extensions.

You will be required to travel on-site one day per month.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage with stakeholders across departments to understand and document business requirements for BI and MI projects.
• Work closely with data and BI teams to ensure alignment of solutions with business objectives.
• Collaborate in the design, development, and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that provide actionable insights.
• Participate in data modelling, KPI design, and metrics standardization across projects to ensure consistency in BI/MI outputs.
• Act as a liaison between business units, technical teams, and third-party vendors, facilitating seamless communication and understanding of project goals.
• Prepare and present findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders, using data visualization tools to highlight key metrics and trends.
• Work with data governance teams to define and maintain data standards and ensure adherence to data quality policies.

Key Experience Required:

• Experience as a Business Analyst, specifically on BI and MI projects.
• Demonstrated experience with BI tools.
• Strong proficiency in data visualization, KPI development, and dashboard creation.
• Knowledge of data modelling, ETL processes, and experience in working with relational databases.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for a non-technical audience.
• Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
