As this exciting project moves to the next stage we have a superb opportunity for a highly skilled Project Director – Buildings & Infrastructure for the Taymouth Castle development. We are searching for an individual with experience of working on full life cycle projects comprising of high-profile mixed-use developments including new build, commercial and residential, renovation and infrastructure projects.
Working alongside other Project Directors you will be responsible for managing and overseeing multiple projects in our fast- paced large portfolio of real estate, hospitality, and renovation projects across Taymouth Castle estate, Kenmore Village and Glenlyon (Farm & Estate) and any other areas as directed by the Director of Construction and Development.

Managing a small project team in the delivery of all building and infrastructure projects throughout the estate and ensuring that each project is managed and implemented to an exceptional standard. Collaborating with other Directors involved in each project and ensuring the overall project plans move with efficiency.
Accountable for managing and deploying a small project team of Senior Project Managers and Project Managers on a day-to-day basis. Collaborating with key stakeholders and multi-skilled design teams to ensure that the delivery of project timelines and budgets are met and without hindering quality.
Effectively managing workloads of multi-skilled teams and playing a leading role in collaborating with counterparts to drive the projects forward. Influencing the development of project plans in collaboration with all key stakeholders involved in each project.
You will be responsible for producing weekly and monthly progress reports in an agreed format or on a planned vs actual for programme and budget for allocated projects. Developing, implementing, and improving operating policies, processes, and procedures for specified projects as and where requested by the Director of Construction and Development.
Being accountable for business, functional or operational areas, processes, or programmes. Identifying and assessing any potential project associated risks, developing mitigation strategies as necessary or proactively resolving any issues in a timely manner.
Continually reviewing and taking responsibility for performance evaluation. The training and development of team members to ensure skills are maintained and kept up to date. Taking a keen interest in employee engagement and reviewing any gaps within the team, and participating in the recruitment of new team members in conjunction with the Director of Construction and Development
You develop strategies in the areas of logistics, project phasing, utilities, and contracting/consultant. Ensuring the high levels of workmanship expected by Discovery Land Company and associated with the clubs are achieved in each area and in line with the Taymouth Club requirements. Actively participating in site walks, checking on progress, ensuring quality standards are being achieved and reviewing the safety aspect of each project.

This exciting opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced Senior Project Manager, Project Director, or an Engineer in a similar managerial role. Experienced in delivering project management, project development management or project construction management of both buildings and infrastructure projects. Particularly in mixed-use real estate and hospitality, residential and listed building renovations, or an equivalent.
You hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or another related field. With relevant professional certifications in Chartered MCIOB or MRICS or equivalent. A valid CSCS card, or equivalent
Sound knowledge and application of Scottish building and planning regulations and experienced in managing the full project cycle. You are comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously while operating at a high level with ‘big picture’ thinking and possess a strong commercial acumen.
Ability to lead, mentor and inspire a team of Project Managers whilst effectively collaborating with various departments and stakeholders with the ability to confidently challenge contractors and consultants as and when required to implement projects in a fast-paced environment.
You effectively prioritise a busy workload and meet project deadlines through out-of-the box solution orientated thinking but are prepared to dive into the detail and “roll-up your sleeves” as and when required. You have an effective and organised approach with excellent communication and people skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills.
Strong and diligent client-facing presentation skills with the confidence to work independently. Proficient in IT and an adeptness with relevant software applications. Knowledge of using Procure or equivalent would be an advantage.
