Eilbeck is seeking to employ a Qualified Electrician / Crane Technician, to join our Newcastle Service Centre.

Duties will include maintenance and repair of overhead cranes and lifting equipment, development and/or modification of electrical panels and circuits, commissioning and testing of completed projects and associated electrical work.

To be considered and be successful in this role, you must have:

Electrical Qualification
Ability to read and understand electrical drawings (control circuits)
Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to multi-task and prioritise activities
Must be safety conscious and the ability to promote a safe environment
Must be available to work overtime and travel to customer sites if required
Previous Industrial Electrical experience.

Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) is one of the best Colleges in Staffordshire. Comprising two modern college campuses, an independent training provider and a rural residential facility. NSCG has a £40m+ turnover and boasts some of the best accommodation to be found in the Sector.
We are seeking an experienced estates and facilities manager to oversee the maintenance of the NSCG estate in ‘best in sector’ condition and lead on the further development and updating of our facilities.
Reporting to the Director of Employer Partnerships and Estates, this is an opportunity for an ambitious and dynamic manager with passion and a commitment to achieving the very best standards of accommodation for our students and staff.
Main Responsibilities:
Support the Director of Employer Partnerships and Estates by leading the day-to-day operations and maintenance activities of the College’s Estate. To include both main teaching campuses in Newcastle-under-Lyme and Stafford, as well as other group premises such as Axia and Gradbach.
To lead the operational managers for health & safety, caretaking & security, cleaning & facilities and catering & hospitality. To provide effective leadership to ensure all parts of the NSCG premises are presented to a high standard at all times, are fully serviced, clean & maintained and are safe & secure by ensuring no unauthorised persons enter the campuses and challenging anti-social behaviour.
To ensure externally contracted works provide best value for money and procurement regulations are adhered to. To liaise with and monitor the performance of contractors and report any concerns or potential problems. To exert financial control in accordance with the Group’s Financial Regulations and to promote the efficient use of resources within agreed budgets. Manage tendering exercises for the procurement of high value third party contracts.
To support the Director of Employer Partnerships and Estates in the ongoing development of large scale capital projects and the implementation of the college’s Estates Strategy. To include, contribution to the development of capital funding bids and provision of information for reports to Corporation and funding bodies as required.
Act as key point of contact with Group’s insurers for any estates and facilities insurance issues.
Required Skills and Experience:
Has relevant qualifications and/or experience in the operation of Building Services with particular emphasis on electrical and/or mechanical trades an appropriate qualification to meet the needs of the role
Has a good working knowledge of an automated Building Management System along with a good understanding and confidence using ICT
Demonstrates initiative and confidence to provide solutions to problems and to take appropriate actions.
Is willing to be called out to attend the premises in cases of emergency (including weekends and other times when the College is closed for business)
