- £41,047.78 depending on experience plus Serco benefits Serco are recruiting for a Electrical Technican to join their current team based at Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital.
This position is to ensure that the Hospital Building, Fabric, Plant, Services and Equipment are maintained to a high standard to ensure continued efficiency, safety and reliability and to safeguard the future long term serviceability of the Estate as contractually required by Serco, Octagon and the Norfolk & Norwich NHS Trust
To ensure safety at all times. To assess all aspects of tasks at all times and take appropriate actions. To know when to request advice or assistance.
To understand own limitations.
To be able to communicate effectively with Peers, Supervisors and Managers within Serco. To be able to communicate politely with Trust Staff, i.e. inform relevant people of work to be carried out, and informing of work status and potential unavailability of equipment or service. To understand the contractual relationship between Serco, Octagon and the Trust
Main Accountabilities:
- To carry out reactive repairs, fault finding, servicing commissioning and maintenance to a wide range of Services, Plant and Equipment within all areas of the Hospital as directed by Supervisors or Managers.
- To carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance to a wide range of Plant and Equipment.
- To work in accordance with all relevant Serco Policies & Procedures, Work Place Regulations and Best Practice Guidelines
- To take a proactive approach to the development and review of Health & Safety systems, work instructions and working practices
- To work in a safe and responsible manner with full regard for own and other’s safety at all times
- To attend work in compliance with the Computerised Time & Attendance System
- To actively participate in the Computerised Labour Control System, including accurate and punctual completion of Work Order Documentation
- To use personal communication equipment as requested
- To be prepared to attend work or work beyond expected finishing time in exceptional circumstances, as requested by Supervisors or Managers
- Communicate to Supervisors or Managers unrepaired faults or defects or requirements for Spare Parts
- To cover Supervisory duties in absence of Supervisor as requested
- To attend on-site and off-site training as required
- To be aware of how the Electrical Technician Role influences Serco’s Norfolk & Norwich Contract and the wider company objectives
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Completion of a recognised appropriate Electrical Apprenticeship or other relevant structured Training Program
- Appropriate City & Guilds and or BTEC certification
- Proven experience of working in a similar environment
- Knowledge and understanding of Electrical Building Services
- Good communication and customer service skills
