Job Purpose

To carry out the efficient operation of all aspects of the feed mill production, ensuring all relevant Health & Safety and quality control procedures relating to the production of compound animal feed are adhered to in order to deliver business objectives.

Mill Technician 2 Primary role is to oversee the DSL and production and all the responsibilities that fall under that role, the focus on production should not be forgotten in times of poor production or peak periods of volumes. The roles and responsibilities are to help organise the shift and achieve coverage of all the areas of the production process.

Primary Responsibilities for Tech 2

• Operate Paladins - To operate both press lines to the most efficient way to optimise production and efficiency, making sure the press is cleaned out regularly. Rotary seal and cooler cleaning are completed with the relevant samples are taken and stored correctly.
• Press platform - Making sure the hygiene on the press platform is kept up to a high standard, making sure all press spares and tools are stored correctly and any spares used on the press are reported to engineering and on the daily shift report.
• Press maintenance - Making sure engineering have the allocated time to conduct press maintenance and PPMs, the working face of the press ie, ploughs, cone, cone bolts, face plate, die bolts and adjusters are in good working order with any missing components replaced and reported to engineering and daily shift report.
• Press rolls and adjustment replacement - Adjusting rolls to be conducted in accordance to the working instruction, assisting on die/Roll changes making sure old die/rolls are removed from the press platform. Die and roll stocks updated to management via the daily shift report, and all equipment and tools are safe and in good working order and reporting any faulty or broken equipment/tools to engineering.
• Overseeing Engineering - Working with the engineering department to resolve breakdownsand update management of timeframes and resolutions, communicating regularly with updates. Working to resolve leaks within the mill monitoring resolution timeframes, and issues with production or DSL, speaking with DSL to resolve any faults.
• Scale checks and calibrations - Completing weekly calibration on micro scales, weighers and liquids.
• Quality - Maintaining constant visual of quality making sure starter, grower, rearer and finisher rations are to the minimum standard and taking actions to resolve any quality issues recording actions taken and results on the relevant paperwork or shift report.
• Setting up of feed a DSL - Inputting production onto the day programme monitoring this through the shift to make sure all feed is made within the timeframe set, working to delivery restrictions and communicating to management if this will not be achieved.
• Raw Material Stocks - At the start of each shift checking all materials are present that will be required to complete feed deliveries, checking blending stock by completing a shift stock take of raw materials. Checking medicated feed has the required medication on site and if not communicating out to the management team as early as possible.
• DSL - Monitoring DSL system optimising production investigating weighing issues on scales, parameter settings, reporting faults to engineering speaking with DSL engineers for support to report and resolve faults.

Key Skills

It is the responsibility of the Mill Technician to lead the Mill and staff within to push for higher standards setting realistic daily targets for those within the teams to achieve. Monitoring health and safety practises and being focused on production, Mill reliability and Key Performance Initiatives.

HGV Technician Job Details
Basic Salary: £44,720pa
Working Hours:
Week 1 Monday-Friday 06:00-14:00
Week 2 Monday-Friday 14:00-22:00 & Saturday 08:00-12:00

Location: Thetford

A HGV Technician is required for a full time permanent vacancy, you will need to have prior HGV Technician experience working within a dealership or fleet maintenance environment. All overtime after contracted hours is time and a half.

Responsibilities of an HGV Technician
·Routine vehicle maintenance to DVSA standards.
·Preparation and presentation of vehicles and trailers for MOT inspection.
·Diagnosing of vehicles diagnostic equipment.
·Good housekeeping and H&S requirements.
·Ensure all paperwork is completed.

Skills and Qualifications of an HGV Mechanic
·Level 3 / City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician
·HGV licence is an advantage

What you'll need to succeed You will hold Mechanical and Electrical qualifications in manufacturing engineering, ideally to C&G level 3 and have experience gained within an FMCG environment. You will have strong fault-finding ability and be able to prioritise your workload to ensure any breakdowns are rectified as efficiently as possible. You will have sound knowledge of health & safety in the workplace.

Here at Serco, we’re looking for a Building Maintenance Assistant to join us at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital, offering a unique opportunity to work in a diverse environment providing a wide scope for development of skills and knowledge as well as making a positive difference in supporting the NHS and community we support.

Reporting to the Building Supervisor you will be part of the building maintenance team responsible for providing the building maintenance across the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital site as part of Serco’s Hard FM estates service to the NHS. A role that offers the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills across the wide range of services we provide.

The post holder will ensure that the hospitals’ building and fabric services and equipment are maintained to a high standard and ensure their continued quality, safety and reliability.
You will undertake building and fabric planned preventative maintenance as well as first response to carry out repairs as requested by the client and be supported with any associated training requirements i.e. steps & ladder, health and safety, working at heights etc. This work is managed through via an electronic handheld device and task management system and will typically include:

- Gulley and drain checks and clean.
- Roof checks and clean
- Installing and replacing fixtures and fittings.
- Respond to minor building repairs and leaks.
- Support Building Craftsperson’s in their role.
- Assist external third party contractors.
- Etc.

What you’ll need to do the role
To be considered for this role you will need to be able to demonstrate previous experience in a similar maintenance role and working within a large complex service organisation. It is preferable that you have knowledge of building trades as this will be an advantage. You will need demonstrate a professional approach, strong awareness to health and safety, good communication and customer service skills and be able to work well in high pressure situations.

Your new company
Working for a large manufacturer based in Norwich on mechanical maintenance and site services. Working Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm with some overtime available.

Your new role
You will be supporting the site engineering team on a variety of plant processes including maintaining pumps, vessels, separation equipment, heat exchangers and hydraulic /pneumatic and piping systems. You will need to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings and circuit diagrams, be able to complete basic electrical work on motors and starter circuits.You will complete daily and weekly plant inspections/monitoring, perform maintenance of the CHP Plant, including gas compression, steam and electricity generation. You will keep the CMMS system updated accurately recording maintenance and order spare parts ensuring critical parts are available.

What you'll need to succeed
You will hold relevant engineering qualifications such as NVQ level 3, City & Guilds level 3 or have completed q recognised apprenticeship. You will have experience in mechanical maintenance and Boiler operation, pump and valve maintenance, a BOAS certificate is preferred.

Here are Serco, we are looking for a Mechanical Technician to join our team at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. This role will be responsible for providing safe and efficient maintenance of the mechanical services and equipment within the hospital. The post holder will ensure that the Hospital Building, Fabric, Plant, Services and Equipment are maintained to a high standard by carrying out reactive repairs, fault finding, servicing, commissioning, and maintenance to ensure continued efficiency, safety, and reliability.

Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital puts its patients at the heart of everything they do. The Hospital cares for the people of Norfolk, north Suffolk and further afield, providing almost one million out-patient appointments, day case procedures and in-patient admissions every year. The hospital has 1,200 beds and state-of-the art facilities and works closely with the University of East Anglia to train health professionals and have a strong focus on research.

Main responsibilities of the role include:


- Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance to a wide range of Plant and Equipment.
- Ensuring work requests are managing and processed out of normal working hours.
- Managing the work team out of normal working hours.
- Take a proactive approach to the development and review of Health & Safety systems, work instructions and working practices.
- Actively participate in the Computerised Labour Control System, including accurate and punctual completion of Work Order Documentation.


What you’ll need to do the role
To be considered for this role you will need to have completed a recognised appropriate Engineering Apprenticeship or other relevant structured Training Program, appropriate City & Guilds and/or BTEC certification. You will need proven experience of working in a similar environment and sound knowledge and understanding of Mechanical Building Services. You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and great customer service skills.
