Position Summary
The workshop Mechanical Engineering Technician is responsible for the day to day safe and efficient running of the mechanical workshop, fixings and fastenings and machine tools to ensure the smooth progression of projects through the workshop for optimal utilisation of plant & machinery by the operations teams.
The workshop technician is required to work in unity with all persons employed with AARR and the public. Essentially you will work honestly and efficiently and be totally committed to help expand the company’s services.

General day to day upkeep and maintenance

• Ensure that health and safety standards are maintained, with respect to all three properties;

We are situated on one site at Angel in the heart of London and our wonderful students travel from across the capital to learn with us. About you:

* Relevant degree
* Experience of working with 16-19-year-olds
* Experience of the working mechanisms of theatre and music performance including operation of projection cues, light and sound equipment, rigging, lighting and programming.
* Experience of using relevant software such as QLAB, Final Draft, Ion Desk, EOS Family software, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Audition, video editing software, sound editing software, Logic Pro, maintaining performing art space and theatre equipment/ resources

* Expertise in filming and recording sound on Sony 4K camera- able to convert files to be sent to exam board

About CANDI

City Islington College is an award-winning further education college in London with centres in Holloway, Angel and Finsbury Park. The College offers a huge array of academic and vocational courses from entry levels right through to HE for young and adult learners. These include foundation learning, A-Levels, BTECs, Apprenticeships, Access to Higher Education. The College also works closely with all stakeholders and offers bespoke training and development programmes.

Our Sixth Form centre located on our Angel Campus offers over 30 A Level subjects to our students, one of the largest choices in the UK, providing high level academic study for around 1,800 students wishing to progress to university.
