As a member of the Corebridge Statutory Reporting team, the Senior Staff Accountant serves a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial information in compliance with statutory accounting principles and internal policies for various Corebridge subsidiaries while also leading the preparation of statutory financial statements. This role will require significant interaction with different areas of the Finance organization, including controllership, investments, actuarial, as well as various component teams and business unit leaders.
About the role
We want to hear from you today if you can:
- Contribute to the timely and accurate delivery of the quarterly and annual statutory financial statements
- Partner with the broader statutory reporting team to prepare and review key financial statement disclosures
- Collaborate with Controllership, Systems/IT, Finance Center and other key functions to ensure complex transactions are properly reflected in the statutory financial statements, issues during quarter close are timely identified and resolved, and a strong feedback loop exists to drive continuous process improvement
- Manage efforts to strengthening the control environment and implementing process improvements (e.g. Project Partner), with a particular focus on enhancing our use of technology and development of automated solutions as Corebridge invests in transforming the Finance function
- Support and contribute to projects and workstreams associated with significant transactions and ad hoc activities, such as acquisitions, capital transactions, etc.

What we are looking for
- Qualified CPA or CPA candidate with a 3+ years of insurance reporting experience
- Strong operational and technical accounting experience with statutory reporting.
- Proficient with general ledger software, SAP, and excellent excel skills
- Experience operating in a dynamic, transformational environment, where change is embraced and viewed as an opportunity to drive process improvement
- Demonstrated past success at creating or significantly upgrading the function and instilling a culture of continuous process improvement
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation development and delivery, with an ability to effectively work across teams
- Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere

For positions based in New York, NY, the base salary range is $90,000-$127,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. In addition, we’re proud to offer a range of competitive benefits.
