The primary purpose of this position is: To ensure quality characteristics are met for product quality verification on aircraft, systems, and products. Also to provide effective and comprehensive oversight and management of a government contract program located in the 301st Fighter Wing.

• Develops and implements a structured and systematic quality assurance surveillance program for all facets of integrated logistics support, providing maintenance managers with the assurance that propulsion system contractors, fleet maintainers, fleet operators, program office engineers and logisticians, and airworthiness authority delegates adhere to customer required specifications in technical, safety, deliverables, and reporting directives
• Consolidates data collection processes for clear and concise reporting, utilized by all levels in the management chain for evaluation, inspection, and audit programs. Independently evaluates the results and, where necessary, recommends the most appropriate corrective action to command level management
• Reviews aircraft field sustainment repairs and maintenance, gathers metrics and prepares reports to initiate corrective action if results indicate contract standards or performance requirements are not met
• Identifies and documents vulnerabilities within the inspection and acceptance of supplies/service to ensure safety of flight

Supervises staff of Air Traffic Control Specialists that is responsible for carrying out air traffic control assignments.

Plans and assigns work to be accomplished by subordinate employees. Sets work priorities and schedules. Approves leave; gives counsel, and instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. Evaluates performance of employees and performance ratings. Hears and resolves complaints from employees and refers group grievances and more serious complaints to a higher-level manager. Identifies and arranges for developmental and other training needs of employees. Finds ways improve production or increase the quality of the work directed. Adjusts staffing levels and work procedures to accommodate decisions made at higher levels. Recommends goals and objectives for the area and tracks.

• Ensure contractor compliance with all requirements related to the design, manufacturing, repair, overhaul and modernization of a variety of items for contractor and customer activities throughout the world.
• Apply a wide range of methods, principles, and practices directly related to quality control/quality assurance fields, statistical analysis, control and sampling, quality data analysis and evaluation to determine contractor compliance.
• Incorporate a thorough and detailed QA knowledge in applying various methods and techniques for investigating, analyzing, and ensuring corrective action on complex quality problems.
• Develop and implement a surveillance plan which begins with clear objectives supported by a master schedule that includes identification of contractor and sub-contractor production needs.
• Perform audits/surveillance of contractor's processes to ensure customer and contractual requirements are met.

• Contribute senior leadership and participates in regional business processes such as strategic planning, workload sharing, and quality management for engineering and construction.
• Serve as Division senior technical advisor to the districts in their discipline on engineering activities, responsible for the competence of projects designed and built in the Division.
• Provide leadership for solutions of advanced, unprecedented engineering problems to key managers, counterparts at the districts, higher headquarters, Corps research and development laboratories, and other Corps, government, and private interests.
• Participate in Regional and national-level meetings, workshops, committees, professional conferences, inter-agency panels, and boards for exchange of technical information and advice on matters regarding engineering.

• Plans, coordinates, and/or conducts all aircrew and flight inspection technician familiarization training for assigned military personnel in accordance with FAA approved courses of study and the Aircrew Training Program (ATP).
• Continually monitors the maintenance program, looking for trends, which could adversely affect the operational mission of facilities worldwide by causing extended down time or create a safety hazard to the military and civilian flying public.
• Performs airborne flight inspection of ground based National Airspace System (NAS) navigational aids (NAVAIDS) using airborne electronic flight inspection equipment and specialized test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE).
• Performs comprehensive Air Traffic Service (ATS) equipment quality assurance inspections at Army airfields and facilities worldwide.
• Monitors the operational status of navigational aids, landing, lighting, and communications systems throughout the Army and establishes and maintains comprehensive flight inspection report data for all Army owned systems.
• Coordinates initial and follow-on Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) training from inception through to certification as a flight inspection technician.

• Serve under the general supervision of the Supervisory Fire Inspector (Captain), who makes assignments based on the overall policy and general content of the fire prevention program.
• Operate within an assigned inspection area to include high-risk, conducting comprehensive fire/safety inspections to identify and correct hazardous conditions.
• Identify complex unique hazards and devises corrective measures.
• Conduct public education classes post-wide as well as on-the-job training classes for fire department personnel.
• Provide training in general fire/safety subjects as well as issues unique to a particular activity.
