The post holder will work as part of the Quality & Safety Management Team to assist the Directorate Managers and Department Heads to deliver the Trust Quality & Safety Management Strategy; to investigate incidents and make recommendations for quality improvement and safety initiatives. Provide the root cause analysis documents/reports, recommendations and draft reports for Directorate Managers to be able to respond to incident reports/complaint letters. Work in partnership with the Quality & Safety Team; as well as the Patient Experience Team to ensure standard approaches are maintained during investigations; report writing and thematic analysis. Manage local access to the Safeguard Incident Management System to maintain records on progress with actions during investigations. Comply with the requirements for investigation by the Trust Rapid Review Group. Support Directorate Manager with audit compliance with Duty of Candour. Signpost staff to appropriate services for support if required during/after the investigation process. Provide information to the Medical Director/Director of Nursing and Quality for the revalidation of staff in accordance with the GMC/NMC requirements. Ensure lessons are shared across the Directorate and Trust following identification of the root cause of incidents/complaints to mitigate future risk. Work with multidisciplinary teams, leading the RCA process, collating responses and then communicating actions and any changes to practice. To work with the Clinical Governance Lead on agreeing any education/training requirements as a result of incidents/complaints. Promote a culture of incident reporting to facilitate thematic analysis to mitigate against risk/complaints. To comply with the trusts vision, values and behavioural compact. The Head of LMNS Quality and Safety is a member of the LMNS Senior Leadership Team. The post holder will work by leading and developing the Quality & Safety work stream which forms an essential part of the NENC LMNS Maternity and Neonatal Plan. This role will facilitate effective working relationships and support clinical change initiatives across organisational barriers to enhance maternity and neonatal safety. This role will share information and learning in a structured and systematic way, working with partners to turn learning into service improvement. The role will work to ensure action is taken to improve the culture of maternity and neonatal services as a building block for safe, personal and more equitable care. This role will work across the system to implement shared solutions wherever possible through shared clinical and operational governance. What we are looking for:
Demonstrable experience in detecting building defects and planning and coordination of work.
ONC/HNC (or equivalent) in a construction-related subject or relevant experience in a construction-related field.
A full UK driving licence is essential to carry out the role.
An understanding of Sovereign Timber Treatment, wood rots, and insect attacks plus DPC in Construction, or relevant experience in a construction-related field.
Demonstrable knowledge of Building and Planning Regulations, Highway Regulations and Party Wall Act.
Excellent time management skills and demonstrable experience in working to and achieving deadlines.
Great communication skills with previous experience using IT systems.
