The Research Office is responsible for driving and defining the University's research strategy; liaising with and implementing ministry’s guidelines relevant to research; liaising with administrative units to develop, coordinate, and execute research policies; and ensuring resources are available to deliver University’s research plans.

As a Director/ Deputy Director, this role will work with senior research leadership and involve in providing strategic leadership and operational support in all research matters in the Research Office.. He/she will be responsible for formulation, implementation and regular review of research policies and procedures. This also includes assessment of the University’s overall performance in research initiatives/progammes to provide assurance that it is implemented within University and funding guidelines.

The responsibilities of this role are:

• Provide strategic and operational leadership of the Research Office and drive change management;
• Develop, review and implement policies frameworks, and guidelines that guide research activity across the University. Work synergistically with stakeholders to coordinate the formulation and development of policy and procedural papers in relation to the implementation of new initiatives and/or revision of existing policies/guidelines;
• Standardise research related policies across the University, ensuring governance and proper implementation in all schools, colleges and pan-university research centres;
• Collaborate with the various stakeholders such as Research Support Office, Research Integrity & Ethics Office, Talent Recruitment and Career Support Office to review processes/initiate new programs to drive RIE and university objectives which includes to lead, integrate and synergise various administrative, operational and system upgrade matters across different stakeholders;
• Engage with various stakeholders including senior research leadership of the school and corporate labs, Human Resources, Finance, Procurement, IT, etc., to align, bridge and improve processes;
• Oversee the Committee on Space Planning and Allocation and ensure that University space are effectively and efficiently utilised and in consistent with prevailing laws and university policy;
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures that are in alignment with the University’s policies and procedures and ensure sound corporate governance and compliance;
• Proactively develop, review and drive improvements in the research’s structure/system/process and work to enhance organisation’s effectiveness;
• Leverage on analytics to assess the effectiveness of research strategies and initiatives, enabling continuous improvement;
• Evaluate historical data on research outcomes and funding effectiveness to optimize resource allocation;
• Implement data-driven reporting systems to streamline compliance monitoring and reporting;
• Develop and manage annual budgets for the organization and performs periodic cost and productivity analyses.

The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:

• A minimum of a Master's degree, preferably PhD degree with R&D background;
• Proven experience in a similar capacity with demonstrated competency in leadership, strategic planning, decision-making and stakeholder relationship;
• Prior work experience in institutes of higher learning or in managing research sponsored programs will be advantageous;
• Proficient in statistical methods and techniques for analyzing data;
• Proficient in data visualization tools such as Power BI and ability to create clear, compelling visualization to communicate insights;
• Requires comprehensive understanding of the education landscape;

• Continual learning to train AI models on user feedback using reinforcement learning (RL).

The Associate Director, Research & Analysis (R&A) is critical to making this happen and will be a team lead role within the R&A team. R&A is the interface between Business and Risk with the aim to achieve a stronger focus on customer, risk management & process efficiency. The role holder will manage a portfolio of Institutional clients in SEA region, be responsible to provide credit support to the Relationship team, as well as provide leadership and guidance to junior team members both through formal and informal reporting lines.

Job responsibility;

1) Be responsible for participating in the formulation of technology business strategy, planning of technology development route, and planning of technology evaluation and technology architecture;

2) Responsible for technical architecture design of the underlying core system of the company's products, formulation of technical specifications, improvement of development process, standardization construction, preparation, sorting and management of various internal catalogs and documents;

3) Responsible for the formulation of project plan and coordination of project development or implementation of all links and department resources, grasp the project schedule (including existing structure and technology optimization);

4) Responsible for organizing core system technology research and research, organizing the formulation and implementation of major technical decisions and technical plans, and formulating implementation plans to ensure the high availability of the system, including network architecture, daily maintenance mechanism, disaster recovery plans, etc.;

Job requirements

1. Bachelor degree or above, major in computer and related: proficient in one or more development languages such as Java and PHP, with end-to-end research and development experience and architecture experience, with actual successful project experience is preferred;

2, with strong technical development ability, at least 8 years of technical development experience, more than 2 years of technical director management experience, with strong team management experience (has managed a team of more than 50 people), has a deep understanding of technical talent cultivation and successful cases;

3. Excellent communication skills and business understanding ability, able to work with the business side on product planning and project progress:

4, rich experience in multi-project management and control, familiar with project management process, system analysis and design, design mode, good at operation research and resource allocation;

5, strong drive and responsibility, with good professional quality and excellent communication and coordination ability: adapt to the entrepreneurial team. Willing to accept challenges;

6. Proficient in cutting-edge Internet technologies, with experience in designing, developing and optimizing large-scale distributed, high-concurrency, high-load and high-availability system architectures; proficient in mainstream open source frameworks and principles;

7, have a certain product architecture ability and business sense is preferred.
