These positions are located in all Directorates, Offices, and Divisions across the NSF. As a Business Operations Specialist, you will perform the following duties:

Project Management:

• Plans, develops, implements, communicates, and tracks project plans, guidelines, budgets, procedures, and timetables.
• Organizes, implements, communicates, and tracks assigned project plans, guidelines, budgets, procedures and timetables including recommending changes in project policy and management activities.
• Assists with management studies to evaluate and measure the progress, and success of projects assigned and to identify and recommend ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of organizational programs and activities.
• Collects pertinent statistical data and narrative information from various sources within and outside NSF, and identifies opportunities for continuous improvements to databases, data gathering, analytical methods, and interactions with Principal Investigators (PIs)/reviewers.

• Works collaboratively with other team members to restructure work processes, standardize procedures, and manage changes across supported organizations.
• Assists Program Directors (PDs) and organizational leadership in technical aspects of preparing for Committee of Visitors (COVs) and other site visits including data collection, data analysis, literature searches, and web-based queries.
• Collects and formats data for analysis and information sharing; conducts moderately complex quantitative and qualitative analyses; presents data for program analysis; and drafts and submits required reports.

• Assists in identifying necessary resources, including funding, staff, and equipment, for providing administrative support to assigned projects.
• Performs a variety of assignments in the areas of budget analysis, formulation, monitoring, financial management and reporting, in accordance with federal budgeting regulations, procedures, and methods.
• Reviews requests for purchases to determine if all required financial accounting and justification information has been completed (i.e. justifications for expenditure of funds, verification of account number, object classification codes). May serve as a VISA Cardholder.
• Ensures compliance with financial management regulations and policies in all assigned areas.

• Conducts program analysis including Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) reporting.
• Assists PDs and leadership in developing outreach plans by identifying target audiences, preparing materials (e.g., presentations, tutorials) for outreach and site visit activities, and evaluating their effectiveness.

The Directorate for Geosciences (GEO) is offering a detail opportunity to serve as the Interdisciplinary (Supervisory Program Director) within the Division of Earth Sciences (EAR). This detail is open to all qualified permanent and rotator NSF employees. The initial appointment will be 120 days, with the possibility to extend up to 365 days in 120-day increments. For purposes of pay and benefits, the selectee will continue to encumber the position from which detailed.
The program director is guided by the goals of NSF's Strategic Plan: (1) enable the United States to uphold a position of world leadership in all aspects of science, mathematics, and engineering, (2) promote the discovery, integration, dissemination, and employment of new knowledge in service to society, and (3) achieve excellence in U.S. science, mathematics, engineering, and technology education at all levels. The core strategies NSF staff employ include developing intellectual capital, strengthening the physical infrastructure, integrating research and education, and promoting partnerships.

The incumbent serves as a data analytic expert for their assigned organization, performing and overseeing data analysis projects and applying specific expertise in data analytics to support organizational decision making. The incumbent will perform the following duties:

• Serve as a resource and leader to Federal and contractor staff in implementing, managing, tracking, and evaluating complex data analysis projects; define customers and apply system architecture principles to develop and manage technical requirements, plan resources, and meet stakeholder business needs and constraints.
• Develop efficient project organizational structures and apply system architecture principles to projects; manage project plans to ensure logistical efficiency, identify, and resolve potential bottlenecks.
• Partner with stakeholders internal and external to their organization in continuous improvement processes impacting data quality, performance enhancements, and overall user experience; and offer expertise when participating in discussions with non-technical internal customers to understand the problem and identify required data sets, collection mechanisms, and other key stakeholders required to solve the problem.
• Assess data interface and storage requirements and needs, oversee and maintain the organizational databases and data systems for data acquisition, storage, and retrieval; use tools to transform, combine, and clean data in preparation for analysis and use appropriate analytic and statistical software to clean imperfect data and prepare data for analysis.
• Translate complex concepts, findings, and limitations into concise, plain language; routine analysis tasks will include structured, loosely structured, and unstructured data from primary and secondary sources and require working with large datasets and numerous confounding variables.

This position is located in the Division of Computer Network Systems (CNS) within the Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE). Division of Computer and Network Systems (CNS) supports research and education activities that invent new computing and networking technologies and that explore new ways to make use of existing technologies. CNS seeks to develop a better understanding of the fundamental properties of computer and network systems and to create better abstractions and tools for designing, building, analyzing, and measuring future systems. CNS also supports the computing infrastructure that is required for experimental computer science, and it coordinates cross-divisional activities that foster the integration of research, education, and workforce development.

The responsibilities of the NSF program officer are guided by the goals of NSF's Strategic Plan: to empower STEM talent to fully participate in science and engineering; to create new knowledge about our universe, the world and ourselves; to benefit society by translating knowledge into solutions; and to excel at NSF operations and management. To achieve these goals, NSF staff employ core strategies including developing intellectual capital, strengthening research infrastructure, integrating research and education, and promoting partnerships.
Specifically, we are looking for a candidate to fill the position in the following program areas:

• Advises and assists the Division Director in the development of long-range plans that ensure ClSE investments are targeted to cutting-edge challenges and opportunities in CISE research and education fields.
• Collaboratively oversees and manages the merit review process for assigned research, education infrastructure proposals to ensure that investments are made in a diverse, rich mix of bold, cutting-edge projects that promise to advance the frontier and contribute to the attainment of NSF' s strategic goals.
• Manages an effective, timely review process with attention to increasing the size and quality of the reviewer pools and ensuring participation by groups long under-represented in CISE fields.
• Oversees and manages the post-award management process for awards in the program, including reviewing annual reports, conducting effective, timely site visits, and overseeing a post-award evaluation process, where necessary.

• Prepares program solicitations, annual program reports, oral presentations and other materials consistent with NSF, CISE, and CNS strategic goals and that inform internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinates and liaisons within NSF and with other Federal agencies, industry, the scientific community, the international community, and the public concerning assigned activities.
• Participates in both in-reach and outreach activities that seek to broaden the participation of communities underrepresented in CNS, CISE, and NSF activities.

As a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Employee & Labor Relations), you will perform the following duties:

• Serve as the principal authority responsible for recommending the overall direction of the National Science Foundation's (NSF's) labor relations program through policy and guidance as established by agency senior officials and advising executive leadership of issues having NSF-wide impact.
• Provide authoritative interpretation of laws, regulations, policies, and procedures that govern Labor Management Relations (LMR), develop broad LMR guidance for NSF, and establish and maintain effective relationships with labor organizations.
• Establish authoritative employee relations policies, procedures, and guidelines, make recommendations to management on the need for changes in existing policies, and develop new agency strategies and plans for employee relations.
• Provide managers and employees with information about NSF's employee relations policies, procedures, and guidelines, and advise supervisors and managers on issues related to employee conduct and performance.
• Perform supervisory duties such as coordinating the development of workload objectives, assigning work and priorities to staff, developing performance standards and evaluating employee performance, identifying training needs, resolving employee complaints, and effecting minor disciplinary measures.

• 5+ years of experience in a senior level organizational project management role, including corporate or government, such as OSD or Joint Staff

• 5+ years of experience managing the application of analytic techniques to solve operational or policy implementation-based problems, including requirements gathering, methodology development, implementation, and program management

• 5+ years of experience designing, executing, and delivering data analyses leveraging statistics, mathematics, data and database engineering, machine learning, or data visualization

• Secret clearance

• Bachelor's degree

Nice To Have:

• 8+ years of experience in a senior level organizational project management role, including corporate or government, such as OSD or Joint Staff

• 5+ years of experience operating within a government organization

As an Associate Product Manager - Research at Lyka, you will lead the charge in bridging cutting-edge science with strategic business initiatives to propel pet health and nutrition forward. Your role will be instrumental in navigating our mission towards doubling pets' lifespans through innovative nutritional solutions and sustainable practices. 

What you will do: 

Research strategy

Aid in developing our research strategy and pipeline to meet business goals, centring on our key thematic priorities: 

1. Safety & benefits demonstration: Demonstrating the safety and efficacy of our products  
2. Improving the general health and happiness of puppers 
3. Improving our products to deliver greater benefits to pets 
4. Developing new products and/or services based on research breakthroughs 

• Create research proposals: Craft proposals grounded in solid statistical and scientific principles in line with our business goals. This includes cost modelling and spearheading the studies' execution, while seamlessly collaborating with external stakeholders such as universities, industrial partners, and customers. 
• Manage active studies: Supervise active research projects, ensuring they progress effectively and align with our investigative objectives. 
• Analytical excellence: Engage in the analysis and synthesis of research results, transforming raw data into actionable insights and coherent findings. 
• Scholarly support: Assist in drafting papers that elucidate research outcomes and white papers that reinforce our perspectives and beliefs.
