An independent regulator in the UK and Ireland, responsible for regulating auditors, accountants and actuaries, is looking to recruit an Actuarial Policy Specialist to support their Actuarial Policy team.
As part of the regulatory Standards Division, the Actuarial Policy Team mainly consists of actuaries who work together to deliver the objectives in our annual strategy and plan.

Duties and responsibilities

• Performing the technical analysis and research in support of developing and maintaining Actuarial Standard TM1
• Performing technical analysis and research in support of other policy development activities, such as preparation and maintenance of Technical Actuarial Standards and supporting analysis on consultation and feedback.

Skills and experience required

An ideal candidate will likely possess a solid grasp of regulatory responsibilities or have experience in the financial sector. Experience collaborating with an actuarial team within the pensions or insurance industry, or a comprehensive understanding of actuarial tasks, would be highly advantageous.

• Likely to be a qualified actuary with experience in Pensions or Life Insurance, or a former practitioner/actuarial analyst. Likely to have operated in a consulting, in house or regulatory role.
• High proficiency in carrying out data and technical analysis using robust processes and procedures with a clear audit trail. Strong problem-solving abilities: ability to analyse information and identify solutions
• Ability to make decisions based on your own investigation and analysis of the situation using logic and experience (including an assessment of impact and associated risk)
• Experience of actuarial work, and knowledge of the standards and guidance issued by the IFoA to its members, and of the IFoA's education, CPD, competence and disciplinary regimes
• Knowledge of regulatory experience is desirable

• Architect and implement clinical-quality software solutions for a novel medical robot system in a medical-regulated environment with focus on requirements and feature definition, design, implementation, and use of robot software frameworks and multi-arm robot control algorithms; and integration in an Image Guided System.

The Clinical Research Project Assistant would be working closely with the clinical research teams in our Partner Organisations and with the staff at the CRN WM. The post holder will be responsible for the data management of clinical trial patients and will be required to review patient records for information. This will include the accurate and timely entry of clinical data into various data capture systems and supporting query resolution, along with administrative support for research delivery.

Valid driving licence and use of car for work purposes are essential.

The post holder will need to be flexible in their work as the role requires travelling around the region. We’re looking for applicants who can integrate into different teams, be familiar with working with a variety of systems both paper and databases and has ideally worked previously in a research or data management role within a healthcare setting. To ensure safe filing and storage of study documentation and samples in accordance with Good Clinical Practice and Research Governance Maintain sufficient stocks of documentation and equipment required for studies (e.g. CRFs, Questionnaires, Blood Sample Kits) To arrange couriering of samples and ensure the contained samples are delivered safely and securely to the necessary destination.
