We are looking for a Research Technician in insect reproductive genetics and epigenetics. This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced research technician (RT) who will contribute to the efficient day-to-day running of the lab, as well as to plan and carry out experimental work. The main job purpose is to assist with ongoing research on the reproductive genetics and chromosome behaviour of several insect study systems. This will involve conducting experiments and preforming genetic and cytogenetic analyses. We therefore require a candidate with a graduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant field.

Molecular wet lab experience, in particular with advanced cytogenetics and microscopy

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 support for banking application software. In the event of errors detected by the bank's operations department (L1 support), you will collaborate with the outsourcing vendor, the bank IT department, and, if necessary, the head office counterpart, working overtime as required after business hours (including late nights/early mornings), weekends, and national holidays to identify and implement recovery solutions.

The Language and Social Cognition Lab at Singapore University of Technology and Design is seeking to hire a postdoctoral fellow to work on research projects on human-robot teaming and cognitive load modelling. The goal of the projects includes developing a human-aware task planner that facilitates effective collaboration between a human operator and a diverse team of robots for exploring complex environments, as well as optimizing task deployment using cognitive load measures and models. Qualifications

The Centre for Electronic Frontiers (CEF) at the University of Edinburgh is accepting applications for an experienced Research Fellow in AI for Electronics Testing & Verification automation. The position will be based at the King’s Buildings Campus.

The Opportunity:

This position is affiliated with the UKRI APRIL AI Hub that aspires to develop AI tools to accelerate innovation across semiconductor technologies, novel microchip designs and system architectures – leading to faster, cheaper, greener and overall, more power-efficient electronics. As one of nine UKRI funded AI Hubs, this is a highly visible programme both nationally and internationally.

The post-holder will work closely with a team of talented researchers and the APRIL operations team to lead the development of novel AI capabilities, tools and methodologies that can enhance the productivity of engineers in designing, developing and testing advanced electronic devices and systems. More specifically, the post-holder should have experience in developing and introducing AI tools in electronics testing and verification for predicting what to test and when. The research spans from improving scenario coverage in certification tests across devices/systems to automatically deciphering underlying physical mechanism is emerging beyond-CMOS devices.

The post-holder will have the ability to engage with world-leading experts across AI and electronics both at Edinburgh and in other UK higher education (HE) institutions but also industrial partners to ensure relevance of their Research in addressing state-of-art challenges in electronics.

The successful candidate will have experience of project development and project leadership in a research context, together with excellent communication, presentation, and organisational skills. They will enjoy working in a dynamic environment and be able to work on their own initiative as well as being an active team member. The role will report to the APRIL Hub Director (Principal Investigator), with on-going engagement with other researchers in the Hub as well as academic leads.

The Opportunity:

Child sexual exploitation and abuse (CSEA) is a global problem that requires a global response. However, the lack of reliable and comprehensive data relating to CSEA is a major inhibitor to developing more effective and evidence driven prevention and response strategies and policies.

Many gaps in the evidence-base around the prevalence and nature of CSEA globally still exist with many ethical and methodological challenges in this area. This is a major inhibitor to developing more effective and evidence driven prevention and response strategies and policies. Without data and analysis, programmes are more difficult to design, deliver and evaluate; evidence is difficult to generate and credibly defend; narratives and definitions that frame the issue are difficult to construct; policy is difficult to advocate for and funding is difficult to access. Without high-quality data that can guide policy and programmes, children continuing to be at risk for child sexual exploitation and abuse and perpetrators have impunity.

This post will provide senior research leadership through a Professorial Chair position and also serve as the Director of European Hub for Childlight – seeking to grow and improve our data partnerships, prevalence estimates and impact in this region. The postholder will also be required to focus on other regions and/or global data projects as needed.

This post is full time (35 hours per week) and on an open-ended basis with a contract review date of 30 April 2028.
