NYGS is a multi-disciplinary service offering psycho-social support to young people on the gender affirming medical pathway and looked after by the adolescent endocrinologist service in Leeds and UCL, London. This new service (NYGS) service will work to NHS Englands published interim service specification for specialist gender incongruence services for children and young people (Interim Service Specification). NYGS will sit within the established NCTH Network which provides the Nottingham Centre for Transgender Health Adult Service, the East of England Gender Service, the Linked Clinic activity with Indigo Gender Service and the Linked Clinic activity with the Sussex Gender Service.

Clinical Assist research nurses/ACPs/Clinicians in delivery of patient care to research participants. Support and co-ordinate obtaining and processing of blood and tissue samples in the clinicalsetting as well as optimising recruitment via clinics and MDTs. Work alongside research nurses ensuring samples are collected and recorded per protocol. Review and record treatments, adverse events and response to treatment to relevant studydocumentation including source data and case report forms including electronic data entry. Plan, prepare and participate in monitoring visits and respond to trial data queries. The Nottingham Colorectal Service is a large tertiary referral unit engaged in all aspects of colorectal surgery. The post will be particularly suited to ST3 and above applicants who are wishing to develop their research portfolio. You will be provided with an academic supervisor and be expected to register for a higher degree with the University of Nottingham (PhD/DM). We are looking for a friendly, engaging and enthusiastic person to join the Biosciences hub in the Faculty of Science Research and Knowledge Exchange (RKE) team on a fixed term basis. You will work to support research through the lifecycle from the application stage (pre-award) to project management and reporting (post-award) and be responsible for approving bids for research funding and accepting awards.

The post is based in the Biosciences hub, meaning the role holder will primarily work at the Sutton Bonington Campus. It will also be possible for the role holder to spend some time working from home if desired.

As Research Manager you will:

Act as the key point of contact for research operations across the School and report on research activity to senior leaders.
Provide expert advice and guidance on the resourcing of research, and manage and approve budgets for externally and internally funded research grant applications.
Partner with central Research and Innovation teams to ensure smooth approval of applications, set up of successful projects, processing of contract requests and appropriate monitoring of research activity.
Provide specialist advice to budget holders on the best use of grant income, including budget and forecast guidance.
Contribute to the Faculty RKE team by sharing good practice.

An exciting new opportunity for a Senior Research Data Clerk to work in hearing research has arisen. This is a temporary role to the 30th November 2024 but may be extended subject to funding.

Clinical Trials Administration

To be a point of contact with Sponsors for data related activity including management of onsite and virtual monitoring visits and review of site file maintenance. Have a responsibility for a wide range of cross specialty trials which vary to each specific protocol.

The post holder will receive and check documentation, access hospital patient information systems, confirm source data and resolve queries in a timely manner. To liaise with the trial caseholder to ensure data integrity prior to submission and data lock.

To liaise with and manage organising visits from external trial monitors, including obtaining patient records, scan results etc. in liaison with the research team.

To respond to data queries in a timely manner and escalate to trial case holders and principal investigators when necessary.

To review trial data information requirements prior to trial start up and attend other appropriate trial related meetings. Ensure that site files are accurately compiled and complete prior to greenlight initiation.

To assist research team members in the appropriate management and coordination of identified clinical trials.

Ensure the implementation and maintenance of clinical research, including maintenance of delegation logs and spreadsheets as appropriate.

To have a good knowledge of all clinical trials taking place in the research team, both those to which patients are currently being recruited (open) and those, which are no longer recruiting patients (closed and in follow up).

Adhere to codes of practice covering confidentiality, data protection and ICH-GCP.

Data Collection

To review patient data from medical and nursing records and perform accurate completion of complex electronic case reports forms working to ICH GCP and research governance guidelines.

To be responsible for additional clinical trial data from other departments and external organisations.

To liaise with the research team, medical staff and the wider MDT to obtain timely source data. according to trial protocols.

To use electronic databases to search for, access and retrieve published scientific literature and publicly accessible datasets.

General Office Administration

To undertake general office work and any other appropriate duties assigned by the research team leader

To undertake any other duties deemed appropriate for the role.

Participate and organise departmental research meetings as appropriate.

The purpose of this role is to develop, maintain and coordinate high-quality administration of the day-to-day running of the Biomedical Research Centre grant to ensure effective and efficient conduct. You will work closely with the Chief Investigators, Co-Investigators, researchers and colleagues within the Nottingham NIHR Biomedical Research Centre Surgery, Trauma, Musculoskeletal Ageing and Recovery (BRC MSK) Theme to ensure successful completion of the research.

Candidates should have excellent IT skills including database management and good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to respond independently to complex queries and demonstrate planning and organisational skills.

This role is available on a full-time (36.25 hours per week) fixed-term basis for 3 years. Applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week).
