Main Responsibilities

The Research & System Development Engineer will be provided with a framework around which the project activities are expected to focus. These activities will include:

Essential to have experience in IOS and Android app development
Generate specifications to integrate video
Continue to build and program an existing app
Production of a final report that sets out a roadmap for the app
While completing this work the Research & System Development Engineer will report to the company/business supervisor on a weekly basis and be provided with regular support from the Academic Knowledge Exchange Lead.
Project Management. As a KTP Associate you will be entrusted with leading and managing the project, taking full ownership of progress and outcomes, ensuring that milestones are met with innovation and efficiency.

Your new role
Southend Council are looking to appoint a full-time, experienced Commissioning & Research Officer within a 12-month fixed term capacity, to help transform and modernise care and support in Southend.You will co-produce change with people who need support along with their friends, families, and the residents of Southend. You will be accountable for the delivery of outcomes by developing a deep understanding of population needs and service outcomes as well as creating strategies to meet them.
This means:

• Putting local people at the heart of all we do.
• Being clear what impact our actions have, and on whom.
• Effective targeting of services to those in most need.
• Ensuring commissioned services are inclusive, accessible and responsive.
• Involving local people in identifying issues and co-producing effective responses.

Under the direction of the Head of Service, you will lead on the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based commissioning programmes. Developing and using appropriate systems and processes to achieve agreed outcomes. There will also be a need to collaborate with colleagues from across the council, partners and commissioned organisations in order to deliver agreed outcomes.

Within this position, hybrid working opportunities are available. However, you are required to be on-site a minimum of 2 days a week.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you must be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience as well as knowledge of current national social care policy and have an understanding of current NHS national, regional, and local priorities.You must have knowledge of the local health and social care system across Southend, along with experience of quality improvement and policy review/writing.You must have excellent engagement, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

You will lead on joint working initiatives between the two Trusts, working autonomously as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, with responsibility for your own portfolio of clinical research studies. You will be responsible for the recruitment of participants onto clinical trials via different routes within hospital and community settings You will play a pivotal role in the delivery of complex research projects, in line with agreed timescales and plans; working with the R&I Research Governance team to ensure that all appropriate approvals have been gained prior to research studies commencing. You will maintain effective communication between patients, carers, clinicians and manager to ensure safe service delivery. You will evaluate research protocols, patient information and GP letters and ensure that information about clinical trials is clearly and appropriately communicated to research participants. You will manage the research related aspect of care for participants of several research studies, which may cover different health specialties.
