We are seeking a reliable and experienced Delivery Driver to join the team at a local department store. This is a permanent, full time position and can include Saturdays. You will get two days off per week.

As a Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods (mainly furniture) to customers. Your role will involve driving a van, communicating with customers, and ensuring timely deliveries.

Duties:

– Safely operate a commercial vehicle to deliver goods to designated locations
– Load and unload products from the vehicle
– Follow delivery schedules and routes
– Communicate with customers
– Complete necessary paperwork, such as delivery logs
– Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
– Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
– Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle

Requirements:

– Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Permanent staff position available to join the team within a furniture retailer in West Cumbria.

The job is to load, drive and deliver furniture items to customers’ houses. There may also be times when you will be helping out in the warehouse.

While on deliveries you will be assisted by a Driver’s Mate.

Furniture can be heavy and awkward to lift so it is essential that you are strong and healthy.

You will be driving a box van and it would be useful if you’ve driven similar, as a job, before.

The job is full time and permanent and you will be working five days per week (this will include Saturdays and could, when needed, include Sundays). You will get two days off per week.

It is 37.5 hours per week and the rota is done in advance. The latest delivery they make is 6.00pm.

You will be delivering to people’s houses so it will help if you are polite, friendly and chatty!

This is not the easiest job in the world (have you ever tried to get a sofa through the front door?) but it is secure and a great place to work. You will certainly be kept fit and healthy without having to go anywhere near a gym!

About you:

A clean driving licence is preferred and ideally a none smoker
Experience of driving a large luton style van
Good customer service / people skills
Know your way around West Cumbria
Friendly, reliable and polite
Comfortable with lifting heavy and, sometimes awkward, items

As part of our driving Team, you will…
-Be transporting Team Members to and from our Park safely at the start and finish of their working shift, to a local pick-up and drop-off point.
-On occasions you will also provide transport for out Holiday Home Owners on local day trips.
-Providing great customer service and communicating with team and guests in a professional manner
-Recording all check sheets 
-Ensuring the bus is ready at the expected time
-Ensuring team are securely transported to and from park, in a pleasant & professional manner
-To be guest focused & provide a first-class service to all of our team and guests

Experience and Qualifications

You may already be a minibus driver which is great! All we are looking for is…
A minimum of a D1 Driving Licence (Minibus Licence up to 16 passengers)

Connect Appointments have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Forklift Driver to join our client in Carlisle!

Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, 1pm to 9pm (there will be early finishes on occasion)

Pay rates: £12 per hour

As a Forklift Driver your duties and responsibilities will include:

• Manoeuvring forklifts safely in busy industrial environment
• Safely stacking large quantities of goods onto shelves or pallets
• Moving goods from storage areas to loading areas for transport
• Unloading deliveries and safely relocating the goods to their designated storage areas
• Ensuring forklift driving areas are free from obstructions
• Regularly checking forklift equipment for faults or damages
• Consolidating partial pallets for incoming goods

To be successful in this FLT position you will hold a valid Counterbalance license, with previous experience operating a forklift truck in a warehouse, manufacturing or similar environment. Combined with: Excellent spatial awareness and attention to detail; The physical ability to perform manual labour; The ability to work well in a team; Knowledge of warehouse H&S requirements;
