At RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, Serco has been providing multi-activity and engineering support since 1997. Serco proudly supports the RAF and MoD, supplying around 20 different services onsite, from engine and aircraft maintenance, to fuelling and ground control services. RAF Brize Norton is the largest operating base within the Royal Air Force, providing air transport and air-to-air refuelling to the RAF fleet, and as a Structures and Composite Bay Supervisor, you will contribute enormously to the vital work carried out here. You’ll also be part of the wider team, with 5,800 service personnel, 1,200 contractors and 300 civil servants on site.

The bay is responsible for RAF Brize Norton C-17 aircraft airframe structural and composite repairs, metal fabrication, and damage assessments. Work is carried out within the structures bay and on the aircraft, both in the hangar and on the line. The team are required to work at height and in confined spaces on the C17 aircraft.


Main Accountabilities:


- Supervise, inspect, certify the work, and ensure the completeness of the metal repair tasks.
- Competency to operate workshop machines and hand tools used in airframe structural work and composite repair.
- Perform structural fitting tasks on military aircraft, ensuring all work meets the highest quality and safety standards.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, technical manuals, and work instructions.
- Use hand and power tools to assemble, fit, and install structural components.
- Conduct inspections of structural components to ensure proper fit and alignment.
- Document all work performed and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate effectively with other team members and departments to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output.
- Ensure that all repairs and rectification tasks are correctly certified and that records of maintenance carried out are correct and complete. Report to the Structures Bay Manager any condition of the aircraft (or component), which could hazard safety.
- Must implement and promote a “Zero Harm” Open Reporting Safety Culture where all individuals are willing and able to report any issue or event which they believe has or could potentially lead to a Safety risk.



What you need to do the job:


- Will have successfully completed a recognised Civilian Engineering or Aviation BTEC/ONC/ NVQ Level 3, or equivalent, or military course in Aircraft Engineering and Metal repairs.



- Previous experience in Armed Forces or industry on full time supervision of aircraft engineering maintenance/ repair activities.

Class 1 4on 4off Night Driver

Bicester

Do you hold a Class 1 (CE) Licence?

If "YES" we want to hear from you!!

The position of Class 1 Night Driver involves:

• Loading/unloading of vehicle, this will be from a refrigerated or curtain sided vehicle sometimes involving a pallet truck.
• Deliveries and collections to and from businesses including in London.
• Dealing with customers face to face and over the phone.
• Keeping in regular contact with the transport team for updates on progress and managing our customers' expectations.
• Attending regular training sessions.

Essential skills required for Class 1 Night Driver:

• Must have a UK HGV Class 1 CE Licence.
• Hold a current DCPC Card and UK Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience of fridge trailers is preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
• Be passionate about providing excellent customer service.
• Working to deadlines.
• Confident, polite and a team player.
• Good geographical knowledge.
• Due to the nature of the role applicants must be fit, flexible, hardworking and self-motivated.

What to expect

As a customer delivery driver and the face of the company, we'll need you to safely deliver building materials to our customers with a professional and friendly approach. Every day is different, from the number of drops you'll do, to where you will be delivering. You'll be loading and unloading and supporting team members when needed, offering you job satisfaction in an incredibly varied role.

What are we looking for?

• A valid Class 2 (Category C) licence
• A valid CPC Card and Digi Tachograph card
• Whilst multidrop experience is handy, it's not a necessity
