The driving of all vehicles used by University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust as required within the requirements of the Road Traffic Act and within the legal limits of the licence groups held. To maintain the security, safety and stability of all loads carried throughout the working day is a legal requirement and it remains the drivers responsibility. This must always be taken into consideration when the vehicle is loaded. Providing a friendly, efficient, and courteous service is provided to both internal and external customers demonstrating high standards of customer service and food quality at all times Supporting operations within the off-site kitchen, which may include working at low temperatures, cold rooms and freezers. Provide an efficient catering service to patients within the Trust to the level stated in the Service Level specification.  To record any other relevant information e.g. body charts after accidents, A.B.C. charts to record behavioral incidents, and other accident and incident reports. Observe and report information regarding service user’s behavior, highlighting any concerns to supervisor or manager. (5%)

Essential qualifications/ knowledge:

 Literacy skills to keep records and contribute to reviews and meetings.
 Experience of working with people with learning disabilities and complex
needs.
 Knowledge and experience of the need for dignity, respect and sensitivity
when supporting the service user group.
 Undertake personal care tasks in accordance with Manual Handling
Regulations.
 Evidence of a commitment to continuous personal development.
 Experience and understanding of people with a learning disability.
 Knowledge of the need for dignity, respect and sensitivity when working
with people with a learning disability.
 Basic level of literacy and numeracy.
 Basic IT Skills.
Essential to Driver Role only
 Must hold a current, full UK driving license.
 PCC Minibus Driver Certificate or willingness to attend the training course.
 PCC Driver & Passenger Assistant Certificate or willingness to attend the
training course.

Desirable qualifications/ knowledge:

 NVQ Level 2 in Care/Health and Social care Diploma
 Learning Disability Qualifications (LDQ)
 Knowledge and/or experience of working with people who challenge the
service.
 Knowledge of relevant Plymouth City Council policies and procedures.
