As an Aircraft Mechanic, WG-8852-12, you will act as the crew chief with responsibility for directing the total maintenance effort on individually assigned aircraft. The work involves the total maintenance of complex, high performance military aircraft, ranging from multi-purpose heavy, multi-engine transports to the most modern sophisticated fighters and bombers. Fully responsible for providing detailed technical insight on individual aircraft's level of Mission Capability (MC), then develops and recommends a comprehensive course of action to maintain the aircraft at Full Mission Capability (FMC). All aircraft are fully integrated in and are part of the Total Force Mission of the United States Air Force. This position is responsible to fully prepare assigned aircraft for Aerospace Expeditionary Force/Wing (AEF/AEW) Operations around the world.

This is a secondary law enforcement position. Under the authority of the Aviation and Transportation Security Act (PL 107-71, November 19, 2001), you will function as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer and perform the duties and responsibilities assigned to Federal Air Marshals.

The position is located in the Field Operations Branch, Training Center, Law Enforcement/Federal Air Marshal Service (LE/FAMS), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The LE/FAMS promotes public confidence in our Nation's civil transportation systems through effective risk-based strategic deployment of Federal Air Marshals (FAMs) and other LE/FAMS law enforcement resources in both air-and land-based mission assignments aboard U.S. air carriers, and in airports and other transportation modes within the Nation's general transportation systems. As the Supervisory Air Marshal in Charge (SAC), you will be responsible for performing the following duties:

• Serving as the Supervisory Air Marshal in Charge (SAC) of the TSA Training Center located in Atlantic City, NJ.
• Providing senior level leadership and guidance to a workforce consisting of Federal Air Marshals, other TSA employees, and other federal, state and local law enforcement stakeholders and program participants.
• Serving as a primary advisor and authoritative consultant to the LE/FAMS Director and Executive Staff on ongoing training requirements and methods to improve security in the transportation domain.
• Providing senior level leadership, directing the work subordinate managers and performing a wide range of managerial duties including the planning, direction, and coordination for day-to-day operations of the TSA Training Center program and training center operations. Programs managed include curriculum development, training delivery methodology, curriculum review/revision, training safety, records maintenance, instructor qualification/certification, general academy administration, training technology, and certification standards.
• Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with multiple law enforcement organizations at all levels in support of law enforcement programs/teams within those organizations.
• Serving as a point of contact for LE/FAMS media and promotion activities.
• Serving as the supervisor for the other TSA Training Center first line supervisory personnel; assigning work, setting priorities, reviewing and evaluating the work and performance of subordinates, approving leave, coaching and developing employees, recommending corrective or disciplinary action, and assisting in the budget planning and managing assigned resources.
• Developing short and long-range planning and goal development based on the needs of the organization and coordination with customers both within and outside the organization.

What is the Role?

You'll be working as part of a team carrying out, maintenance and construction works on our overhead electricity network, installing poles and pole mounted equipment. This is a physically demanding role which will involve you working outdoors and on public highways, farms and wilderness areas, where you'll also hold responsibility for operating a HIAB and a Unimog mounted crane.

What do I need?

- To be successful in this role you'll preferably have experience operating a lorry mounted loader (HIAB), have Slinger / Signaller experience.

- A HGV class 2 license is required for this role.

- Safety is our number one priority and you must be confident to act on your own initiative and as part of a team, completing on site risk assessments and lifting plans.

- Finally, flexibility will be required for this role, as you may be required to form part of a call out rota to attend to emergencies outside of normal working hours as required.

Supervises a staff of Air Traffic Control Specialists that is responsible for carrying out air traffic control assignments within a geographic area.
