Job Description
SUMMARY: The Team Performance Manager will serve as the Customer Team's financial analytical and process expert, ensuring that Team performance goals are met within established budgetary guidelines. This position will drive trade efficiencies with assigned customers' portfolios and advise the Customer Team of risks and opportunities within the business to maximize Customer Category and Brand results. Additionally, they will manage audit control to ensure SOX compliance. This role acts as the expert in all trade tools and internal systems, leveraging customer dynamics to optimize internal processes. Key internal interfaces include the Vice President of Sales, Director of Sales, Customer Development Managers (CDM), Team Performance Managers (TPM), Customer Sales Analysts (CSA), Customer Planning Specialists (CPS), Sales Strategy & Planning (SS&P) representatives, product managers, and Customer Finance. Accountable for the leadership, personnel management, and development of Customer Planning Analysts and Customer Planning Specialists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze key drivers of Customer Team financial performance: volume, net sales, gross margin, trade spending, forecast accuracy, and deductions.
- Own Customer Team scorecard responsibilities, including period updates and maintenance.
- Provide leadership and support to sales leaders in building Annual Team Operating Budget and minor period results.
- Partner with sales leaders and SS&P on the development and refinement of Team goals.
- Understand and leverage customer financial dynamics, interfacing with strategic customers as appropriate.
- Act as a Team expert and provide training on trade system tools.
- Conduct analysis on trade spend, review results, and develop recommendations with the team to maximize return on investment.
- Develop collaborative relations with key cross-functional partners.
- Manage and provide leadership to direct reports.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience: 5 plus years of relevant CPG experience, including a combination of Customer Management, Customer Marketing, Category Management, and/or Trade Marketing. Customer Finance and Analytics preferred.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills required.
- Travel: 6 or more domestic trips per year.
