The role of our Home carers has changed and is focusing now on four priority areas:- Enablement / Rapid Response / Complex and palliative care / Remote and rural areas
As a Home Carer with Aberdeenshire Council you will work alongside a team of professionals within Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership. You will be involved in providing specialist care and support to service users across these four priorities, to allow service users to build upon their skills and abilities to live independently, while promoting their rights, autonomy and choices. As an employer, Aberdeenshire Council will provide and fund all required training including facilitation and attainment of an SVQ2 qualification. You will also be provided with your work uniform and all personal protective equipment (including an electronic hand held device) required to undertake the role safely and effectively.

This role will require flexible, evening and weekend working.
Shift Pattern: Relief working various as and when required. Shifts AM 7.00- 13.30 and PM shifts 16.00-22.30 weekend work as well .

Requirements
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
This post will require you to have obtained SSSC Registration within 3 months of employment.
You must hold a current valid driving licence and access to a car.
This post has a minimum requirement of two references, one of these must be your current or most recent employer.
