An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Strategic Finance Team of Aberdeenshire Council to join a team that is committed to providing excellent public services and fostering a supportive work environment. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join us as a Modern Apprentice Assistant Accountant. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience and develop essential skills in accounting and finance, working as part of our Business Partnering and Revenue Accounting team. This role is perfect for someone looking to start their career in accounting within the public sector.
The role benefits from a comprehensive training and development programme, mentorship from experienced professionals and opportunity to gain recognised accounting qualifications.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
Aberdeenshire Council is committed to increasing the opportunities in the local area by providing Modern Apprenticeships (MA's). These allow you to gain skills, experience, and knowledge in the world of work as well as gaining a formal qualification.
Successful candidates will be placed on an approved programme of training through the Aberdeenshire Council Modern Apprenticeship Scheme for SVQ Level 2. In order to qualify for the appropriate funding from Skills Development Scotland this MA programme is open to candidates aged 16-19. If you have a disability or are a care leaver* then you are also eligible to apply up to the age of 29. Academic achievement to Scottish National Level 4 or 5 or Standard Grade in Mathematics and English, or equivalent transferable experience and Skills is essential.
*Any adult who spent time in care as a child.
Aberdeenshire Council currently applies a Living Wage Supplement to all Council employees earning less than £12.00 per hour.
This post has a minimum requirement of one reference, which must be your current or most recent employer.
