This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual looking to influence a positive change. WPA Education Welfare Services are expanding therefore seeking to recruit Education Welfare Officers to work in Croydon and the surrounding area.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide welfare support to families and schools where there are issues affecting school attendance. Education Welfare Officers regularly liaise with schools, parents and other agencies to provide support as necessary. Therefore, candidates must have strong inter-personal skills and the ability to problem solve.

Candidates are expected to complete reports for schools and therefore the role requires a high standard of communication both verbally and in written form.

The role may involve carrying out home visits so candidates must have a valid driving license and have access to a vehicle. The successful candidate must also be able to adapt to working in different environments and be able to work under pressure and to deadlines.

At Hillingdon Manor, we provide specialist education for 185 pupils, aged between 3.5 and 19. Located across two sites, our Secondary School supports around 125 students. Our students are taught in smaller class sizes and all students work towards a variety of qualifications dependent on their needs and ability.

The aim of the site is to provide enough support to unlock each pupil’s potential so they can live fulfilling and productive lives. We provide young people with as much freedom as possible in a safe and supervised environment. The opportunity

As a Teaching Assistant, you will connect directly with the brilliant pupils and young people we care for, helping to make sure they get the very best from their education. Each individual has a diagnosis of Autism and may have additional needs. They have so much potential, and they will rely on you to guide their learning journeys bespoke to them.

You will help prepare learning materials and run classroom activities, with plenty of hands-on experience and some supervision too. You will take responsibility for their emotional and physical needs, supporting them to develop as individuals and engage with the world.

You will face challenges and overcome them as you flourish and thrive, sharing your skills and learning from others as your career takes you as high as you always dreamed you could go.

Every day will be different, but you will have all the support you need, with lots of skills and experience to draw on along with valuable advice and guidance too.

Options Trent Acres School is currently undergone development and has increased its pupil numbers from 30 to 100 over the past two years, due to this the job roles advertised are new as part of this development and it is an exciting time for the school.

The school is situated on a 12 acre site and is purpose built, modern and welcoming with a range of specialist learning areas including an indoor and outdoor riding area and outdoor gymnasium and our pupils have the opportunity to work with the animals on site (horses, donkeys, goats, reptiles, chickens, chinchillas to name but a few) and learning outside of the classroom is a fundamental part of life at Options Trent Acres School. We have a dedicated team of staff who are focused on delivering high quality, pupil-centred, bespoke packages of education for all pupils.

The school is within easy reach of Stoke, Derby, Telford, Stafford, Lichfield, Burntwood, Rugeley, Cannock, Burton-on-Trent, Tamworth, Uttoxeter and surrounding areas.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will connect directly with the brilliant pupils and young people we care for, helping to make sure they get the very best from their education. Each individual has a diagnosis of Autism and may have additional needs. They have so much potential, and they will rely on you to guide their learning journeys bespoke to them.

You will help prepare learning materials and run classroom activities, with plenty of hands-on experience and some supervision too. You will take responsibility for their emotional and physical needs, supporting them to develop as individuals and engage with the world.

You will face challenges and overcome them as you flourish and thrive, sharing your skills and learning from others as your career takes you as high as you always dreamed you could go.

Every day will be different, but you will have all the support you need, with lots of skills and experience to draw on along with valuable advice and guidance too.

Who we are looking for

You will be adaptable and ready to work in a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outside according to individual need. Taking a responsive and caring approach, you may be running classroom activities, leading outdoor experiences or supervising pupils as they explore further afield.
