At present, Aurecon is involved in supporting the design and construction of Australia's largest utility-scale wind farms (on and offshore), solar farms, and Battery Energy Storage (BESS) projects. Your role will include:
- Lead and support design activities, including the role of owner's engineer, supporting clients in the development, construction, and management of their projects.
- Responsible for engineering activities, including managing sub-contractors and providing guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as mechanical, process, structural, civil engineering, and project management, to achieve project key performance indicators (KPIs) and requirements.
- Provide mentoring to less experienced engineers and peers.
- Conduct site visits and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Create and maintain documentation, including engineering drawings, design specifications, and technical reports.

What are we looking for from you?
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or a related field recognized by Engineers Australia.
- Significant experience in technical design and delivering projects.
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, including power distribution (up to 33kV), control systems, and instrumentation design.
- Significant experience gained within Australia in designing and implementing utility-scale generation or storage, or similar project experience in HV substation, HV reticulation, and heavy industry.
- Experience in various electrical calculation software packages, such as PowerCAD, ETAP, DesignBase, CDEG, will be beneficial.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- Proficiency in project management tools.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory standards and codes related to electrical design and installation associated with the water industry, such as AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008, AS/NZS 61439, AS/NZS 2067, AS/NZS 60079.
- Chartered Professional Engineer accreditation or eligible candidates are highly regarded.
