Adults Senior Social Worker - Locality (Gr I)

The post holder will have a major contribution to make to the delivery of that vision and the strategic priorities set out in the Kingston Plan by providing effective management of professional Case Management.
The team offers an excellent opportunity for a practitioner to take their practice to a new level, working with internal and external partners to promote positive outcomes for individuals that we work with. This also involves being proactive in preventing harm from occurring to adults at risk. Kingston Hub, New Malden and Surbiton and Chessington Hubs are one of the 5 wards within the Royal Borough of Kingston and focuses on supporting vulnerable adults.
Our involvement is proactive and empowering, focussing on liaising with individuals and their carers soon after their initial referral to the borough in order to assess their needs and create effective outcome-focused support plans. We work closely with the Maximising Independence service in order to maximise people’s independence, choice and quality of life. In order to promote a flexible, seamless service and offer continuity for individuals where required, we are able to provide targeted ongoing support. As such, team members are able to work with a varied caseload and utilise the support of the separate Access and professionals from other disciplines.
Requirements of the assignment / Key deliverables
Experience of working in a statutory setting
The main responsibilities of the post will be:
1. To carry a caseload including those where there are high levels of risk.
2. To undertake Safeguarding investigations and attend case conferences on occasions.
3. To be responsible for undertaking and supporting a range of case work of customers with non-complex needs under manager supervision.
4. To be responsible for accepting referrals, undertaking screening and where required, providing information and advice and carrying out initial assessments.

6. To undertake reviews of customers with long term, low level needs as required and within statutory timelines and carry out reassessments as required.
Skills and experience required
In order to carry out these responsibilities the successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills:
• Excellent communication skills, both in written and oral presentation
• Good assessment and case management skills
• Knowledge of Personal Budgets/Self Directed Support and the philosophy underpinning these
• Knowledge of the local Safeguarding protocol, and the Pan London Safeguarding Protocol.
• Good supervisory skills
• Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and social care initiatives and priorities

End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £25.83
