Cambridge Accommodation Services is based in central Cambridge and supports tenants

with learning disabilities in a respite, residential and supported living setting.

The role of Senior Support Worker is to lead a staff team of Support Workers to support

and empower adults with a learning disability to enhance the quality of their life,

maximise their potential and to continue to promote and develop independence skills within

their home, the community, or within a supported unit or whilst accessing respite.

You will line manage a team of Support Workers providing support, training and supervision.

You will report to the Registered Manager to ensure the service meets the CQC requirements. You will ensure that information within the Service is accurate and up to date and reviewed to meet requirements. This may include care plans, medication management and recording, health action plans, hospital passports, risk assessments, safeguarding, and accident and incident reports. You will also undertake audits and quality assurance checks.

Our Senior Support Workers take responsibility for more complex health needs and liaise with health professionals, attend meetings and appointments with professionals when required. It is expected that you will be able to work within Mental Capacity legislation and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and have the ability to apply legislation within your area of responsibility.

Managing staff resources to ensure the service has adequate staff cover to agreed levels will also be required.

This post is for 30 hours per week, requires you to work various shifts (between 07:00 – 22:00) and to work every other weekend and sleep-ins as well as selected Bank Holidays as part of a rota for which additional enhancements are paid.

The starting pay for the posts is £13.69 per hour (£20.53 Saturday hours- £23.96 Sunday hours).

You will need to have a proficient level of written and spoken English for the purposes of

case recording and will hold a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or related

subject.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as having proficient IT skills.

Are you a experienced Social Worker and ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for a Senior Practitioner to join us in our South Cambridgeshire Family Safeguarding Team, based in Trumpington Cambridge.

We manage a varied caseload of Child in Need, Children in need of Protection, Public Law Outline and care proceedings, focusing on children up to the age of 18. You will use a Motivational Interviewing approach where you will act in partnership with children and their families to achieve sustainable change and improved outcomes for children. You will be supported in this by a multi-disciplinary team that includes adult mental health workers, drug and alcohol recovery workers, and adult domestic abuse workers, supported by our practice methods.

The Family Safeguarding South Team is a stable, highly motivated and very supportive team, that is strengths-based underpinned by relationship-based practice with clear aspirations to improve outcomes for children, young people and families in South Cambridgeshire. We would welcome applications from a diverse range of workers to enhance our existing workforce.

The role is hybrid with a mix of office and home working alongside visits. There is an expectation that our Seniors are in the office at least two days per week and available to be in the office to assist the Team Manager with any additional tasks as they arise.

As a Senior Practitioner you will be involved in staff supervisions, mentoring and developing staff, including recruitment and induction support.

There is some management responsibility, along with assisting the team manager with team functioning including the planning, allocation and reviewing of cases.

To continue with your social work practice you will provide leadership in high complex cases which involve risk, complexity and safety of children, young people and families. You will be required to provide written and verbal reports for a variety of settings, including court, that are concise, informative and based on analysis of complex evidence.

It could be that you also want to be or are a Practice Educator and want to support us as a team develop social work students, which we would fully support.
