CLA is seeking a Credit Risk Director to join our Financial Services team in our Indianapolis office.
Our credit risk services area of CLA is growing rapidly and this position offers a unique opportunity for an individual to utilize their experience to assist various financial institutions. This position also offers tremendous professional growth within a Financial Services (FS) practice with a strong reputation within our local markets for excellent technical expertise and a commitment to client service.
How you’ll create opportunities in the role:
- Working with clients and other FS staff to determine engagement/relationship objectives, develop appropriate budgets and assist in coordinating resources to meet the outlined objectives.
- Collecting and analyzing pertinent data to scope a loan review project or assignment.
- Evaluating credit files and assessing risk on an aggregated basis
- Coordinating with clients for the timely completion of fieldwork
- Reviewing and/or preparing credit review reports
- Providing ongoing technical assistance support to clients
- Anticipating and addressing client issues
- Assisting in the oversight and completion of other engagements/special projects or duties as assigned
- Providing oversight/review of assigned staff members for credit risk engagements.
- Assisting in the firm’s business development and strategic activities in the credit management area
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key bank executives and directors
- Attending conferences and association meetings for financial institutions
- Working with other CLA staff and clients to address credit review issues that may arise.
- Remaining informed of the latest banking industry, accounting and credit review developments through ongoing formal and self-education
What you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field required. Ten years of related experience acceptable in lieu of a degree.
- 7 years of financial institution experience, including strong credit review, commercial lending and/or credit administration experience
