An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and experienced leader to join the Specialist Autism Team as a Clinical Operational Manager.
We are looking for individuals who share our strong value-based approach and have an understanding of the support needs of people Autism, who are at risk of an acute hospital admission or placement breakdown.
The individual will have strong leadership skills to be able to lead a team through a time when many of our service users are in crisis.
The Trust is working closely together and in collaboration with the wider Joined Up Care Derbyshire organisations.

The Clinical Operational Manager in The Specialist Autism Team will have a key role in continued development of the service, working closely with managers, community services, multi agencies, third sector and other key stakeholders, to support individuals who are in crisis or require an intensive community response; aiming to maintain adults with autism to stay within their own home setting where possible.
Our purpose is to provide community health services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.
We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people’s own homes and via virtual consultations.

(You will be one of two Clinical Operational Managers. Roles will be discussed and delegated once you are in post.)
You will operationally manage and clinically lead a specialist health service for adults with mental health issues, complex/ challenging behaviours and autism and lead on the development of the service .
You will provide high quality operational management and clinical leadership to a multi-disciplinary team of professionals working with this complex group.
You will provide support, guidance and supervision to the team taking a lead role in the most complex cases.
You will take operational responsibility of the team and ensure staffing across the service working closely with the other clinical operational managers in the service, other managers and clinical leads in the service.
In conjunction with IST operational manager take operational responsibility for the 24 hour crisis resolution service. Where necessary and in agreement with post holder provide ad-hoc on-call cover.
You will monitor service provision and evolution in a changing social and economic environment.
You will support the team to provide an effective service in both planned and crisis work.
You will provide operational management into the team, supporting evidence-based practice to the highest possible standard, mindful of national and local policies, guidance and legal frameworks.
