Roles and Responsibilities
The ICT Trainer must possess good interpersonal and communicative skills to enable him to work with all the AV and ICT personnel in the school as a team. He also must be able to work together with the ICT team to provide ICT enrichment programme to the school.
1. ICT Lessons for Students:
- ICT trainer will conduct ict courses for secondary school students over 30 weeks during curriculum time and some selected modular courses outside curriculum time and during the school holidays.
- The computer courses will cover the ICT skills on ChromeOS, Windows, MacOS and iOS platform and other areas include
- Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
- Apple Productivity Tools
- Google Workspace
- Cyberwellness
- Programming and scripting (incl. Scratch, C, C++, Java, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript,
Visual Basic, Python, Swift and etc.)
- Educational Web Tools (e.g. Google Workspace, Blog, etc.)
- Adobe Photoshop, In-Design, Illustrator and etc.
- Student Learning Space (SLS)
- Microbit
- App Inventor
- Swift Programming
- Prepare scheme of work, lesson plans, teaching materials, assignments and projects for students.
- To monitor and evaluate the progress of the projects/assignments.
- To collate and document feedback from the students regarding the ict course at the end of each course.
- To archive student projects into digital portfolios.
- To inform and remind students about ICT curriculum schedule and take remedial action on absentees.
- To prepare workshop series for self directed learning for students.
- To monitor and assess students’ progression of the digital literacy skills learnt in school.
- To conduct workshops as stated below (outside curriculum time during the school holidays if necessary) for students depending on school’s needs.
- To prepare SLS packages to enhance students’ digital literacies skills.
2. ICT Club
- To design training schedule and provide training for the students from the ICT Clubs.
- To prepare students for ICT related competitions.
- To be proficient in photography and videography skills
- To be proficient in programming (incl. Scratch, C, C++, Java, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Visual Basic, Python, Swift and etc.)
3. Training Courses for Staff
- To identify training needs and conduct training courses and workshops for staff. (Educational web tools, SLS, Google Workspace, Apple Productivity Tools, Microsoft Productivity Tools)
- To assist teachers in deploying ICT infused lessons and assessment to students
- To assist teachers in content creation and design in their lessons.
- To propose ICT tools for teaching and learning for staff.
4. ICT Related Activities
- To support teaching and learning in the classroom for the school’s PDLP programme for Sec 1 to 4 students.
- To provide feedback and input during monthly meeting between school, ICT Committee, ICT Support Team and vendor
- To assist the school in ICT related matters such as
- Look for solutions pertaining to ICT related problems.
- Provide consultation and assistance for teachers in computer-related matters and
problems.
- Support the ICT Committee in data administration and monitoring of ICT-related
activities in the school.
- Lab maintenance and equipment security.
- To work together with the ICT Support Team for the following
- To setup and support Mac/iOS client/ Windows computers/ Chromebook devices in the school ensuring all computers/ devices and software are readily available to all users and classes/ training on a daily basis.
- To assist in the maintenance and support of network infrastructure (wired and wireless) and network printers for PDLP and SSOE windows devices.
- To setup and calibrate framework/format for publishing materials online.
- To diagnose Chrome/ Windows/ Mac devices (including iPads) hardware failures including all peripherals and PDLP devices (iOS, ChromeOS, Windows based) depending on the PDLP devices the school chooses.
- To manage user administration and technical support of the school portals such as (Apple Classrooms, Google Workspace, Student Learning Space (SLS) and etc.).
- Any other areas of need arising from the school’s PDLP for Secondary 1 to 4 students.
5. Maintenance of School Website
- Familiar with Isomer platform and any other CMS platforms. (e.g. Joomla, Wordpress, Swiiit, ISOMER)
- Knowledge of Web programming in HTML, CSS, Javascript, SQL
- Add/edit/remove web content on the school’s website.
6. Video Filming and Editing
- Proficient in videography and video editing techniques
- Film/ video major school events
- Knowledge of Adobe Premier Pro, iMovie, Final Cut Pro for video editing purposes.
Qualification, Skill & Experience
The ICT Trainer should:-
- Possess minimally a diploma qualification in ICT (or related fields for example, Computing, Digital Multimedia and etc),
- Must be registered with MOE
- Have good ICT knowledge, skills and experience in
- Microsoft Office
- Google Workspace
- Apple Productivity Tool
- Adobe CC
- ICT webtools for teaching and learning
- Troubleshooting of IT devices (iOS, ChromeOS, Windows)
- Photoediting and video editing skills
- A repertoire of programming skills (for eg. Scratch, C, C++, Java, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Visual Basic, Python, Swift and etc.)
- Have minimum 3 years of relevant experience of teaching in schools.
