We are currently hiring for a Learning & Behaviour Support Assistant to begin at a dynamic school in Bolton, Greater Manchester. This is a temporary role with the view to becoming permanent, beginning as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will assist the Year Progress Leads in ensuring that all students maximise their progress and attainment by supporting them to remove any barriers to learning. They need to be role models in terms of conduct, dress and professionalism and in the way that colleagues and students are treated. The postholder is expected to support the academy’s ethos at all times. They will liaise closely with the staff across the academy to ensure that the students pastoral needs are fully met.

Purpose of the Job:

Support the Teachers and Year Progress Leads in overseeing the academic, pastoral and welfare of all students.
Support positive behaviour through a range of interventions, rewards and consequences, using careful analysis of data to identify students in need.
Support the welfare of the students; follow up incidents, maintain accurate and detailed records, meet with parents as required, liaise with appropriate support staff, liaise with outside agencies as appropriate.
Support the organisation of any whole year group trips or other activities, such as alternative curriculum days, charity events, options process, enrichment and programmes of revision, as appropriate to the year group.
Respond to parental enquiries as appropriate through telephone calls, emails and meetings, and keep accurate records of all communication with parents.
Support the monitoring of attendance of all students and work with tutors, the Attendance Officer and Year Progress Leads to maintain excellent attendance across the year group, putting interventions in place as appropriate.
Ensure that all students are properly safeguarded at all times
Contribute to the personal development of all students.
Encourage and motivate students’ involvement in critical events (e.g. induction, work experience, interviews, career guidance, etc).
Offering support to students with welfare problems, through discussion, practical resolutions and where necessary signpost to support
Contribute to the mentoring of under-performing students.
Support the aims, values, mission and ethos of the academy and participate in a team approach to all aspects of school life
Attend and contribute to staff meetings and INSET days as required, and identify areas of personal practice and experience to develop.
Safeguarding

The post holder will deputise for the Divisional Nurse Director when required and support the delivery of the services to achieve consistency of practice, high standards of care and innovation with a strong patient safety focus.

They will work in conjunction with the wider Divisional Management Team to ensure the delivery and achievement of the Anaesthetic and Surgical Services Divisional objectives and contribute to the on-going development of the Surgical Nursing , AHP and Health care scientist professional development.








• The post holder will:
• Support the Divisional Nurse Director to champion the delivery of excellent care of surgical patients with compassionate leadership, and retaining a focus on engagement and co-production within the services.
• Provide effective leadership within designated areas of responsibility promoting the highest standards of safe, high quality care and an effective learning environment for all staff.
• Act as a key member of the Divisional Management Team contributing fully to the development delivery and achievement of all Divisional and speciality objectives.
• Deputise for the Divisional Nurse Director as required.
• Participate in a Senior Managers on-call rota tier 1.

Previous experience in a similar post would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be provided for the right candidate.
