As the Senior Accountant, you will work alongside the Head of Financial Planning and Principle Accountant to constructively challenge and provide financial support and advice to a number of managers who lead a variety of Capital Schemes and projects, providing advice to Budget Holders, Heads of Service, Directors, and stakeholders across the full range of services delivered.

In addition you will represent the Finance service and deputise for more senior finance officers when required at working parties and project teams. Take responsibility for the financial aspects on allocated projects and work in partnership with services and third party consultants in the assessment and review of business plans, and identify the financial implications and benefit realisations. Ensure the Service and Financial Plan or the relevant company business plan includes all associated costs or savings.

The Post The post is integral to maintaining the quality and range of the services provided by the Department of Gastroenterology. The department provides the full range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures including advanced therapeutics such as stenting and facilities for Video Capsule Endoscopy are in place, but currently not used. The department offers specialist services in inflammatory Bowel Disease (including a joint medico-surgical MDT), rapid access dyspepsia endoscopy clinics, nutrition and hepatology including elective oesophageal variceal treatment. This post offers the opportunity to specialise in any of these areas. The department is research active and participates in a number of portfolio studies and is supported by the Bardhan Research Foundation. There are links to the Gastroenterology and Hepatology departments at Sheffield & the liver transplant unit at Leeds; monthly Hepatitis MDTs with the Hepatologists/ID Physicians are held. Gastroenterology is a core member of both the upper and lower GI cancer MDTs and the department has close links to the Trusts Alcohol Liaison Service. The post holder will be expected to work in partnership with all other members of the multidisciplinary team to deliver clinically effective, safe, high quality gastroenterology services to our population. The post holder is expected to undertake service development review and evaluation to improve/expand current practice. All appointees are required to participate in all departmental activities, including audit, sharing the administrative responsibilities and contributing to the further development of the department and the Trust. The post holder will be expected to provide high quality management of gastroenterology services to the populations of Rotherham and Barnsley through: The provision of a consultant gastroenterology service for inpatient and outpatient services ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the department. East Sussex Healthcare Trust is developing new ways of working for senior cancer nurses in all areas of cancer care. We are now looking for oncology nurse practitioners to join our existing team supporting the oncologists to deliver a consultant led rather than consultant delivered services.

Breast cancer patients with locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer have increasing life expectancy. Many treatment options have become available over the last decade to benefit patients. There are expected to be further new lines of oral systemic drug therapies, directed to multiple drug targets soon.

A successful breast oncology service requires specialist allied health professionals in addition to clinicians to deliver all aspects of breast oncology care and management. The role of a dedicated metastatic practitioner allows specialist skills to be developed in relation to the metastatic space, a dynamic and constantly changing treatment landscape.

With mentor support (nursing and medical), the post holder will integrate into the existing specialist oncology team working as an autonomous practitioner to carry out their extended roles in clinic.

A fundamental part of the role will include assessing patients fitness and analysing results prior to each treatment using skills to take a thorough history, assess toxicity and arrange and track relevant investigations (e.g. blood tests, radiographs).

It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC and have post registration experience in oncology care or breast cancer care. As an oncology nurse practitioner, your key role is the deliver high quality, safe and clinically effective oncology care for metastatic breast cancer patients.

As a senior member of our nursing team advanced clinical knowledge and skills are required to work as a core team member, working autonomously isessential. You will require evidence of clinical leadership and managing change, delivering teaching programmes and possess excellent advanced communication skills with the ability to manage resources, people and situations effectively, whilst keeping a calm head in a challenging environment.
