Program Management-Participates in planning and coordinating routine or limited aspects of the fuels management program. Assists in program direction, short-and long-range planning; budgeting; and managing wildland fire, fuels management, and prescribed fire programs. Monitors a variety of limited operational projects to address technical fire management problems. Ensures the smoke management program complies with state air quality standards. Coordinates with federal, state, tribal and local government air quality officials to comply with operational procedures and reporting requirements.

The CYP Cook performs various tasks or a sequence of tasks in food service preparation. Tasks consist of several steps that require attention to work operations and follow and established sequence of work. These tasks, which are summarized into categories related to food preparation and service, kitchen maintenance, and food storage, are summarized below.

Food Preparation and Service

Prepares all types of meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables, fruit sauces, and gravies for menus.

Prepare, cook, season, and portion food for all meals by following standardized recipes at different levels of difficulty and plan, regulate, and schedule cooking procedures so that numerous completed food products are ready at the appropriate temperature ant time. They plan and prepare or coordinate the preparation of an entire meal.

Prepare menu items using special or difficult recipes that require numerous interrelated steps, many ingredients, lengthy preparation time. They prepare a variety of menu items using several different and complex methods of preparation such as cool or chill.

Designs, implements and maintains specialized and general office Monitor temperatures and steam pressures, evaluate the condition of food being cooked at frequent intervals, and turn and baste meat to add flavor and to prevent uneven cooking and drying out.

Modify recipes for ingredient quantities, the number of servings, and the size of the equipment available.

Kitchen Maintenance

May perform the following: cleaning serving carts, food preparation areas, cupboards, drawers, and dishwashing areas; set up and operate a mechanical dishwasher; scrapes, soaks, scours, and scrubs the heavier cooking utensils such as mixing bowls and pots; performs heavy-duty cleaning tasks throughout the food service and related areas, such as cleaning ceilings; cleaning exhaust hoods; cleaning spaces under and behind kitchen equipment, including moving the equipment; washing floors and walls with powered cleaning equipment; cleaning walk-in refrigerators and freezers; and sanitizing garbage room.

Additional Responsibilities

Screens equipment requirements and obtains authorizations for vehicles and equipment to meet the unit's mission. Determines required maintenance; prepares and manages records to reflect changes in status of vehicles and equipment. Maintains the General Services Administration (GSA) vehicle lease program supporting the unit mission; accounts for vehicles, arranges with contract vendors in the local area for maintenance, services and warranty work; notifies GSA Regional Fleet Manager of status and maintenance actions; provides program oversight, reports damage and ensures budgetary funds are programed and available.

Determines, coordinates and ensures timely development of weekly, monthly, and yearly operational and maintenance plans for assigned general and special purpose vehicles and a variety of equipment. Projects parts, contract services, funds, and personnel required. Assigns work priorities and schedules vehicles and equipment for repair, inspections, and preventative maintenance based on consideration of shop capability and the requirements of the unit. Schedules and conducts maintenance planning meetings to refine and incorporate unscheduled maintenance requirements. Manages production workload and MEL requirements to ensure that minimum fleet levels are maintained and makes necessary adjustments to the production schedule. Analyzes, plans, and controls production independently, makes adjustments to meet deadlines, ensuring the most efficient and economical use of facilities and skilled labor.

Manages, formulates and performs analytical data reviews on a wide range of production indicators to assist in improving productivity or in determining causes of production delays. Serves as the primary vehicle account custodian, ensuring accuracy within the Defense Property Accountability System and other automated processing systems. Collects, consolidates, performs analysis and reconciles variances to ensure data integrity within associated programs. Incumbent coordinates between other ANG units, the National Guard Bureau, Department of Defense agencies, and the Government Supply Agency to ensure accurate accountability for vehicle receipt or transfers. Controls, reviews, and aligns vehicle authorizations, allocations and assets. Manages Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO) program. Takes action to order and follow up on needed parts kits for each TCTO. Plans and schedules TCTO accomplishments within requirements. Manages vehicle Service Bulletin and Quality Deficiency Reporting program in compliance with United States Air Force, Air National Guard, and local directives. Manages and audits cost data to ensure all materials are validated and properly charged. Coordinates load testing and repair of load bearing equipment; obtains copies of load test certification, maintains official files of the status of equipment, and ensures budgetary funds are available for such tests. Manages the Quality Assurance program ensuring compliance with standards and regulatory guidance.
