The MPGS provides professional soldiers to meet armed security requirements at Royal Navy, Army, RAF and other MOD bases across the UK Mainland. Our primary role is to counter the terrorist threat posed to military bases within the UK

Our duties include:

Security incident management - Such as suspicious packages, bomb threats, protests, etc.

Patrolling site perimeters - Taking necessary action to preserve perimeter security.

Controlling entry and exit - Managing control room and gate operations and ensuring all visitors are dealt with efficiently.

Military Working Dog services (at selected sites).

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: The Transformation Manager of Neighbourhood Development will work closely with the Associate Director of Neighbourhood Development, directors and senior managers for their area (internally and externally) to ensure oversight and delivery of joint responsibilities. They will lead in the areas of: Supporting the development and the delivery of the strategy for Neighbourhoods including Community Services, Personalised Care, Long Term Conditions, End of Life Care, VCFSE and Ageing Well, that in turn delivers the outcomes required for the people of Somerset when accessing care. Support and lead on the delivery of the transformation agenda for pathways of care within Neighbourhoods. The postholder will support the Associate Director in developing and delivering the commissioning, service re-design and transformation in all areas of Neighbourhoods, working collaboratively with system partners. The Transformation Manager will be responsible for ensuring that transformation delivery plans are developed, maintained and delivered, in line with organisational governance arrangements, to support effective service redesign, commissioning and performance management in partnership with system colleagues. The Transformation Manager will also support the Associate Directors within the Strategic Commissioning team in work relating to their assigned locality, specifically around place-based commissioning at a neighbourhood level. The Transformation Manager will support collaborative working across organisational boundaries by building strong and trusting relationships with key system partners to improve outcomes for the population of Somerset. The job plan on appointment will consist of a split of 7.5:2.5 DCC/SPA. The SPA component is made up of core activities (appraisal, revalidation, CME, routine departmental meetings etc.) and non-core activities. Non-core activities are discussed and agreed within the Trust (via an agreed tariff and, on occasion, through ad personal agreement). Non-core SPA may reflect activities such as educational supervision, research, leadership and quality improvement. Following appointment, non-core SPA may be used to participate in our consultant development programme, or in acquiring or consolidating specific skills and expertise. Non-core SPA is only available if specific activities and objectives are mutually agreed in job planning. Teaching There are a number of specific roles within the hospital relating to our joint endeavours with the University of Buckingham Medical School. These roles involve teaching and the wider management of the undergraduate training programme. These activities are recognised explicitly in job plans. Day-to-day teaching on the wards and in clinic is accounted for within direct clinical care (DCC) time. Research and Development Over the last few years, Research and Development has been one of the fastest growing areas within the hospital and we are consistently in the top five small acute trusts in England for our research performance. Trust appraisers are appointed by the Medical Director for appraisal and revalidation. Key issues arising from the appraisal process are relayed to the CSU Lead and Medical Director.
