What is the role?

SSEN Distribution has an opportunity for a Solution / Functional Architect to work within our Transformation Portfolios. The portfolios will be delivering using Agile methodologies and will be working alongside people from business & technology teams.

This role is for an experienced Solution Architect expert in Work Management technology & processes to support the evolution of our application estate by targeting the development of the functionality that supports SSE's Distribution business. The scope will focus on enterprise level IT systems that support our business and operational teams. As we deliver enhancements to our business capabilities, moving from a limited set of solutions to a modern, cloud based, application portfolio, we need to ensure we build this in a secure and robust manner. The role will drive a range of initiatives, with a focus on creating architectures for specific platforms & components, and providing the high-level designs for them to be implemented.

The successful applicant will report to the Lead Architect as part of an expanding architecture team, with the ability to influence strategy and approach. This is a great opportunity to play a pivotal role in the transformation of SSE Distribution systems to secure, dynamic and robust platforms that can support the rapid expansion of our business to meet our Net Zero targets.

Key Responsibilities for this role will include:

- Contributing to the creation of application specifications and feeding it into programmes of work for delivery, this will include consultancy across projects to ensure the technical solutions proposed are aligned with that strategy.

- Creation and ongoing ownership of roadmaps for solutions and will cover initial requirements, gap analysis, product/solution selection and prioritisation for implementation. You will use your experience to bring innovative solutions to bear on our technology landscape, with ideas for their rapid deployment to mitigate current risks.

- Working with SSE's central IT teams to align with Group IT strategy and standards that will be applied to the architecture designs for Distribution. You will also provide expert guidance to our delivery teams.

- Creation of data models and data designs that resolve data gaps or data quality issues.

- Provide an effective assurance function that ensures we deliver the right solutions, bringing together stakeholders from a range of disciplines and our Procurement teams.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- A structured and methodical approach to solutioning, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely at multiple levels, and the ability to lead discussions and influence stakeholders who are used to operating with less structured approaches.

- Experience of working in a programme/project environment with involvement in the full lifecycle of delivery from planning to operations.

- In-depth knowledge and understanding of designing, developing solutions for work management, work planning, work scheduling and mobile work management solutions, automating work management business processes and translating work needs into tasks that can be efficiently dispatched.

- Specialist product knowledge of configuring work planning solutions that link priority work orders to team resources, available materials, network outages, automated traffic management noticing, access to land and other work planning constraints.

About the Role

Base Location: Reading, Havant, Glasgow

Salary: £55,573 - £63,643 and a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The main purpose of this role is to support the group-wide adoption of the Information Governance Framework by taking the lead in co-ordinating and supporting the end-to-end process & response plan for eDiscovery and the Request for Information procedure.

This role will involve acting as an eDiscovery Subject Matter Expert, using the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) framework and working within a cross functional team. It will lead collaboration across SSE corporate services, business units & third-party services to source information required to respond to legal, regulatory & contractual requests for information, ensuring requirements and deadline dates set by regulators or legal process for responding are met.

This role operates in the 'hub of a 'hub and spoke model and will support the Group Data Governance Manager in the implementation of a group-wide strategy around information management, ensuring that Information Governance processes and rules are optimised across the business units and corporate functions ('the spokes).

Key Responsibility

- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the eDiscovery process framework.

- Enhance eDiscovery case management - providing comprehensive support in coordination and guidance, and in driving best practice throughout the organisation to ensure seamless integration throughout the end-to-end eDiscovery process.

- Act as the eDiscovery Subject Matter Expert for the SSE group. Promote awareness of the importance of eDiscovery by developing and delivering communications, training, education, and adoption initiatives to improve corporate knowledge about key concepts.

- Develop and maintain a suitable monitoring and reporting approach to communicate the value of the eDiscovery framework implementation to wider stakeholders and to measure progress against defined goals and targets.

- Support in the implementation of Information Governance Framework.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Experience in eDiscovery case management and coordinating eDiscovery response plans.

- Experience of using Microsoft Purview eDiscovery platforms for eDiscovery processing, review, and production.

- Knowledge understanding & experience of document discovery requirements & activities for litigation processes and regulatory investigations within energy sector or similar.

- In-depth understanding of Information Governance and EDRM framework.

- Good Stakeholder management and communication skills, a proactive self- starter.
