Applications are invited to apply for a Senior Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The Senior Clinical Fellow in conjunction with the ED consultants and Nurses would be expected to manage the wide variety of acute adult and paediatric emergencies presenting to the department. They would be expected to provide support to junior colleagues.

This is a fixed term post from 05.02.2025 until 06.08.2025

The successful candidate will join the only Emergency Department in the Milton Keynes District which currently serves a population of over 200,000.

This is a busy teaching hospital with affiliations to the University of Oxford, Health Education Thames Valley (HETV) and the University of Buckingham Medical School (opened in January 2015). There are ample opportunities for career development, teaching experience and research.

Primary duties include the initial diagnosis, resuscitation and overall clinical management of all patients arriving to the A&E Department. Appropriate follow-up, referral for admission, transfer or discharge to GP’s care is an important part of the work along with liaison with colleagues in the community, i.e., GP’s, Health Visitors, and District Nurse for the proper continuity of care. There is an opportunity to get involved with teaching simulation- including a bimonthly teaching for the SHO’s and Middle grades including multi-disciplinary teaching with other specialties.

It is expected that you will supervise the junior doctors in the department whilst working on the “shop floor”, advising and reviewing their patients as necessary.

You will be working for an award-winning and widely recognised Tier One contractor who delivers high quality work on road schemes, partnering with National Highways and local authorities. With this project in particular, you will be providing commercial support on an £80 million project which involves work on a dual-carriage road and roundabouts.

Your new role
You will be working on an infrastructure project where you will be heavily involved in subcontractor procurement and management of subcontractor packages. Furthermore, your role will include, but not be limited to producing and agreeing monthly applications in line with the terms of agreement, producing thorough monthly reports and CVR's in accordance with the project or business unit specifications and analysing and assessing extensively the expenditure reports generated by internal cost systems.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed, you will have strong experience in the procurement of subcontractors and subcontractor management on large scale highway projects, NEC3/4 contract experience and previous employment with Tier One contractors. Degree qualifications are desired, but not essential.
