We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and experienced Internal Auditor to join our team at this interesting time as we are sharing and transforming front line services across two Councils. Internal Audit has been a successful shared service for over 12 years.
You will cover all types of audit work and will be involved in preparing audit briefs, carrying out audits and preparing draft reports for discussion with management. You will need to be able to work as part of a small team and on your own with minimal supervision. You will need to have skills to take the next step and carry out some supervision of the Auditor post. Your work will cover Cannock Chase District Council and Stafford Borough Council services.
We need a self-motivated, flexible, organised person with strong audit and communication skills to help provide a professional, high quality internal audit service in line with the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards. We are looking for a passionate individual who is keen to shape the future of the Internal Audit Section and ensure that we continue to support the Council in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Essential requirements for this post include:
• Level 4 IIA Certified Internal Auditor, CIPFA Professional Diploma or an equivalent or higher qualification.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to research and develop audits on new and emerging risk areas.
• Experience of working within an Internal Audit Environment.
• Knowledge of Internal Audit practices and procedures.
• Good interpersonal and written communication skills.
