Outpatients are seeking an enthusiastic senior receptionist/administration officer to help maintain the efficient administration in their departments at our Sutton Site. This post is vital to the smooth running of the main outpatient clinics. You will work in a busy environment, providing a reception service for patients and relatives.
The role also includes preparing medical records for the consultant's clinics. As a member of a mulit-disciplinary team, you should possess excellent interpersonal, verbal communication and organisational skills. Keyboard/IT skills are essential and hospital experience is desirable. The post is for 37.5 Hours a week Monday - Friday.
The Senior Administration Officer is a member of the Outpatient/RDAC Administrative Team, covering the clinics, preparation and reception areas. They will adopt a professional and caring attitude with a polite and courteous manner in all aspects of communication. A uniform will be
worn at all times.
The post holder will support both the Administration Manager and the Deputy Manager whilst providing a supervisory role to the OPD/RDAC Administration Officers

• To ensure that the reception desks within the Outpatient and RDAC Departments are adequately covered at all times and telephone calls are handled in a professional manner.
• To be responsible for ensuring that on arrival patients are given the correct blood test request forms as directed by the
nurses/medical team.
• To check that the patient’s arrival and departure times are entered accurately on the Digital Health Record (DHR).
• To ensure that all patient appointments are booked accurately and to liaise with clinics regarding overbookings to minimise patient waiting times.
• To cover the radiotherapy desk and record patient arrival time, liaise with radiographers and nurses to ensure optimum efficiency within the department. (Chelsea branch only)
• To work within clinics assisting nurses and doctors to ensure the smooth running of the clinic.
• To ensure all clinic documentation and results are ready for the clinic.
