Your Role
Working with TfGM Projects Group, rail industry partners and in support of the Rail Senior Programme Manager, you will:
- Lead the day-to-day management of TfGM’s Rail programme in the development and delivery of complex multi-disciplinary rail projects;
- Lead, mentor, guide and motivate a team of project and programme professionals to meet committed milestones, budgets and ensure successful outcomes in line with TfGM’s vision for the Bee Network.
- Support the development and maintenance of an effective supply chain, ensuring alignment with project needs and fit-for-purpose contracts to deliver value for money for TfGM for years to come;
- Build and maintain strong, effective relationships with rail industry partners, key stakeholders and internal departments to secure necessary approvals and support for successful projects delivery.

Who are we?
TfGM has an exciting and ambitious Rail Programme with over £100m of investment in rail stations infrastructure over the next 4 years. TfGM’s plans include making Greater Manchester’s rail network step free by delivering a significant Access for All (AFA) Programme, delivering the first new station in Greater Manchester in over 25 years at Golborne and, supporting the integration of rail into the Bee Network.
Working as a Projects and Programme Manager within the Projects Group Function you will be working at a senior level within the existing Rail Delivery Team (currently a team of 14 project delivery colleagues) and function to provide management, leadership and direction.

You will have a strong background in leading the development and delivery of large rail or similar infrastructure projects/programmes of significant complexity & value.
You will have experience and knowledge of Rail Industry Delivery processes such as PACE as well as contract management delivery utilising the NEC3/4 contract framework as well as working knowledge of duties under the CDM 2015 Regulations.
You will also have demonstrable leadership experience of multi-disciplinary project teams, consultants and contractors, with strong problem solving and negotiation skills to meet funding and schedule targets.
You will have a track record of building productive working relationships and have the ability to engage with and influence a diverse range of stakeholders, and partners including political, professional and public audiences.
With strong verbal and written presentation skills, you should be able to communicate transport solutions at all levels, working across technical and non-technical issues.

This is a permanent role with a salary of £69,312 - £78,011 per annum dependent on skills and experience. You will be working in a supportive team of rail project professionals
