We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated service manager to join our busy Surgery, Perioperative Medicine and Adult Critical Care team. You will support this award-winning team to effectively manage patient flow, admin and clerical teams, service improvement projects, and financial performance.

As part of Team Surgery, you will work closely as part of a triumvirate to deliver high quality, efficient and forward thinking services across The Royal London and Mile End Hospitals. The Associate Deputy DDO is a key management role and is responsible for the operational delivery of all aspects of the service areas. Key aims are:

• To co-ordinate the operational delivery of services within the portfolio of responsibility to ensure the safe and effective use of all resources. Specifically, to take a lead in achieving key performance targets in line with local and national agreements.

• In partnership with the Clinical Directors, Service Group leads, and Deputy DDO take operational management responsibility - with the specialty Lead Clinicians, Nurses, Operational Managers within the Peri op and Critical Care Directorate for the delivery of the Division’s financial and operational priorities.

• Provide timely, efficient and effective operational service management support for the specialties of Theatres, Scheduling, 3D and Day Surgery.

• Operationally lead the Scheduling team supporting the Associate Service Manager with key relationships across all divisions that have elective patients.

• Deputise for the Deputy DDO, acting with delegated authority as granted to lead on tasks and in key meetings. Support the wider directorate under the direction of the Deputy DDO.

• Support the Clinical Director, Lead Clinicians, Divisional Director of Operations and Deputy DDO’s to ensure that the services are responsive, innovative and provide the highest possible clinical and performance standards.

As the Aftersales Manager, you role will be to manage the Technical Service Department and to work closely with the Customer Service team to achieve quality and customer care objectives.

Your key responsibilities as an Aftersales Manager will be to:
• Manage and support the technical service department
• Undertake regular reviews of departmental performance
• Undertake performance reviews and identify training needs
• Implement appropriate training and development plans
• Keep to up to date with technical information and to communicate relevant information to the team
• Recruit departmental staff
• Contribute to the development of annual budgets
• Produce regular reports on departmental performance
• Monitor and manage costs in accordance with agreed budgets
• Continually work to improve customer care standards
• Monitor and manage work in progress
• Monitor and control cash, trade and warranty debtors
• Attend meetings and training sessions

As an Aftersales Manager you will ideally have the following skills and attributes:
• You will have the ability to lead, manage and motivate your team to maximise every profit opportunity, whilst delivering exceptional levels of customer service.
• You must have a stable and proven track record in managing an Aftersales department and be able to demonstrate delivering a profitable result
• A full clean driving licence
