Your new role
This role reports into the Chief Officer of Environment and Place and has supervisory responsibility for four direct reports. To summarise, you will:

• Be responsible for providing regular reports to the Chief Officer highlighting performance against targets including new business. You will assist in setting new targets which maximise financial performance and reduce operating costs. Reports to include customer and stakeholder feedback and cost analysis.
• Working with various organisations to ensure the success of such key events for the community. Ensuring a commercial approach to programming enables rapid response to change in market demands in order to maximise financial performance. This will include supporting and working closely with the central marketing and corporate teams in coordinating marketing, sales and public relations activities.
• Monitors' financial performance and efficiency of own team ensuring delivery of work within budget and prepare and submit bids for external funding as an when opportunities arise to maximise the use of these funding opportunities to deliver additional services not funded by corporate budgets.
• Staff management responsibilities to include management of all direct reports, annual appraisals and regular coaching and mentoring. Leading on staff recruitment, including providing details to management team, ensuring high quality induction processes are in place and probationary reviews are carried out on time.

The post holder will be able to co-ordinate the provision of high quality patient care , whilst ensuring our service continuously meets the needs of our patients. The post holder will provide effective leadership and support all grades of staff and the multidisciplinary team. Lancaster Girls' Grammar School are seeking to appoint an Executive Assistant to the Headteacher to provide professional and comprehensive administrative support.

The successful candidate will act as gatekeeper to the Headteacher and have meticulous attention to detail. They will work confidentially and independently to help run the Headteacher’s office and support the Senior Leadership Team. The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with a flexible ‘can do’ attitude. Engineering Manager - Lancaster - Manufacturing - £60,000 to £68,000 + Benefits

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team, including Mechanical, Electrical, and Planning Engineers across both planned and reactive maintenance
• Promote and maintain a safe operating culture with the team, ensuring all aspects of maintenance and installation are undertaken in line with relevant HSE legislation and company requirements
• Manage costs and resources, including waste control, labour, and spare parts, to optimise maintenance efficiency

Candidate Requirements:

• Ideally educated to Degree Level in an Engineering discipline

We’re looking for a Head Chef to lead the kitchen team in our busy Inn

You will be responsible for a diverse team, cooking from fresh and serving the highest standard of food. Our kitchen could be expected to deliver around one thousand meals per week including breakfast, lunch, dinner, events and room service.

Your day to day;

• You will be responsible for ensuring that ingredients are stored, prepared, cooked and presented to the highest standard and meets our guests’ requirements, complying with food safety guidelines

Who are we looking for?

You will be able to demonstrate a keen business sense, producing menu items and directing a team in line with commercial and customer requirements delivering the highest level of quality.

As Head Chef, you will be someone with a proven track record of designing rotas that allow you to forecast and manage labour costs. You must understand the need to consider team characteristics and their collective productivity, looking to improve and deliver standards in the most efficient way possible.

You will be comfortable collaborating with other senior chefs in the group, sharing best practices in recruitment, retention and developing talented individuals.

From your experience you will be able to identify ways that business strategy, customer profile, culture and constraints influence the development of creative, profitable and competitive menus. You will be able to foresee market and business scenarios that present risks and opportunities to the business.

Someone who can set measurable, challenging goals for all team members, finding ways to improve staff’ knowledge and their approach, coaching and mentoring the kitchen team. Experience of delivering technical training and development content would be beneficial.

You will have a grasp of the principles of supply chain management, waste management, sustainable procurement and working practices in the kitchen. Understanding the principles of profit and loss and recognising how you can support the overall financial performance of the business through an efficient operation, building on past experience to achieve monthly and annual budgets.
