Here at Serco, we are looking for a Project Manager to work as part of the Environmental Services Mobilisation & Transformation Team delivering business critical projects such as mobilisation of new services/systems, business change and standardisation on behalf of the Environmental Services sector.
You will be required to deliver projects both individually and as part of a wider project or programme of work, using and adhering to accepted project management & Serco Management System processes and principles.
You will have a close working relationship with Senior Operational Managers and Project Managers within Environmental Services, as well as colleagues in Support Services.
Your main responsibilities:
- Manage projects to successful conclusion using and adhering to accepted project management processes and principles, including the creation of risk registers and associated mitigation plans and the appropriate assignment of tasks to team members of multi-function background
- Take a lead role in identifying and developing specific and cross-organisational fit for purpose solutions to meet client needs
- Conduct interviews with client representatives at senior management level, and interpret and evaluate complex data to diagnose and develop solutions to resolve cross-functional operational/ tactical client problems
- Analyse and document existing cross-functional business processes to improve business performance
- Build and maintain positive client relationships with internal and external clients
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Experience analysing and interpreting business information, and writing business cases and reports, with the ability to structure a coherent argument
- Proven experience developing and managing medium scale transitions or business change project plans for cross-functional operational/tactical change assignments.
- Ability to demonstrate a detailed understanding of contractual commercial SLA’s and KPI’S
- Experience of successfully delivering personally owned activities within larger programmes or several smaller projects
- Proven capabilities in Business Change and project management methodologies
- Good working knowledge of using project planning tools such as Microsoft project
- Experience of managing small teams
- Expertise in the use of office automation tools including Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
Desirable but not essential
- Prince 2, Lean Six Sigma or similar
- Experience and knowledge of working in Environmental/Waste solutions industry
