Job Purpose

This is a role in SMBC’s Private Wealth Group and it includes supporting the establishment of credit and risk policies and responsibility for private wealth related credit products including structured lending (single stock financing), Lombard lending, mortgage lending and insurance related lending. Group Account Director (GAD) / Business Director (BD) is a leadership role among different stakeholders, including clients, the agency team across capabilities and departments, partners (internal and external stakeholders) and agency account leadership. The BD is a key driver of business stability as well as growth.

The role is critical to the success of the business. For the clients which the GAD/BD works on, the GAD/BD must be capable of delivering the agency's strategy and playing a pivotal role in helping to develop and implement best practices.

The role also requires juggling two imperatives: harnessing the agency’s capabilities to bring the best of agency and its capabilities to the table for clients; while ensuring that client growth and profitability are also strong, and that people working on the accounts are motivated and inspired. These different imperatives sometimes clash with each other, so there is a need for someone who understands what to push and pull at different instances.

The role:

1. Obsession with delivering the highest client value through product excellence and borderless creativity

• Partnering with clients in achieving short/near/long-term business goals through the agency’s work.
• Leading the agency team in being able to develop and implement brand strategies and plans for clients.
• Working with agency partners to ensure that best practices are applied for clients.

• A good understanding of paid, earned, shared, owned media and how to orchestrate the entire campaign experience for consumers, and how to get best outcomes by collaborating well with media/channel partners.
• Good commercial acumen and being able to deliver within budgets for client, and profitably for the agency. Strong collaboration with the financial partner to maintain good management of the accounts.

Useful experience and qualities:

• 10+ years of experience and at least 2 years of experience in a similar role in our industry
• Experience working on global FMCG or CPG brands like Unilever, P&G, Danone, Nestle, Coca-Cola where there is a strong brand stewardship culture
• Track record in farming existing clients and growing our scope of work
• Strong leadership qualities, but the ability to be collaborative as well
• Detail-oriented and ability to work in an agile and flexible manner
• Strong verbal and presentation skills. Able to develop presentation decks and deliver compelling presentations.

Asia-Pacific Corporate Banking Department, Project Finance - Power & Infrastructure ("PF P&I")

We are now seeking an experienced professional to join the team.

Our PF – Power & Infrastructure is responsible for the project finance business in Asia, excluding Japan. There are four sections in PF, namely Power & Infrastructure, Natural Resources, Agency and Credit. This position reports to the Head of Power & Infrastructure.

Your key roles & responsibilities include:

· Initiating Project Finance marketing activities in the Asia Pacific region

· Providing lead in financial advisory and major debt arrangements

· Preparing of pitch books, advisory reports and marketing materials to promote business in both advisory and lending functions, and presenting analysis and findings to clients

· Developing relationships and maintaining strong networks with clients for new or future business opportunities

· Conducting relevant due diligence to mitigate credit risks and preparing credit applications to obtain credit approvals by coordinating with various related stakeholders

· Cash flow analysis to examine robustness of project economics in a range of scenarios as well as proposing of appropriate debt pricing levels to manage risk profile and adhere to profitability guidelines

What you should have:

· At least a Degree/ Master Degree in Business, Banking & Finance or Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience

· Good understanding of principles of project finance, execution of projects and good knowledge of Export Credit Agency related finance

· Experience in Power projects such as (i) gas fired IPP and also any renewable energy, (ii) water treatment, waste to energy and other utilities, and (iii) other transportation and social infrastructure, and with coverage in the South East Asia highly preferred

· Willing to travel to Asia region when required.

· Ability to communicate in another Asia language such as Chinese Mandarin, Bahasa Indonesia or Bahasa Melayu would be advantageous for communication with clients in the respective countries.
