To support the scientific and technical workforce performed by the qualified staff in the anticoagulation department. To ensue that all procedures are undertaken according to laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs) To support the anticoagulation team in the provision of the service to all users of the department. To perform near patient testing at anticoagulation clinics using INR monitoring devices. To undertake home visits to perform near patient testing using INR monitoring devices. The Liaison Psychiatry Service based at Leighton Hospital has a Band 6 Liaison Psychiatry Practitioner vacancy. We are looking for dynamic, motivated individuals with an excellent track record in engaging people in distress.

You will have high quality risk assessment skills, and a compassionate approach to working with patients and their families/carers who present to the A&E Department or who have been admitted to hospital.

The Liaison Psychiatry team is part of the Urgent Care Mental Health First Response Services, which includes Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Teams, Liaison Services, Street Triage Services, Liaison and Diversion Services and the Crisis Line.

The post holder will enhance the Liaison Psychiatry Service, providing prompt response for assessments and assisting treatment delivery within the ED 4-hour targets and NHS England response times. The Liaison team also support the education and training of acute care staff around mental health issues, Deprivation of Liberty safeguards, Mental Capacity Act & the Mental Health Act.

Experience of working with patients with complex mental health difficulties is essential. All successful applicants will receive robust supervision and be supported in their own professional development.

1. Dispense discharge, out patient, day case and in-patient prescription requests. 2. Check dispensary medication expiry dates at the end of each month. 3. Replenish dispensary stocks, including robotic dispensing lines. 4. Dispense medication into monitored dosage compliance devices e.g. Nomad and dosette trays 5. To undertake activities within the pharmacy which contributes to the efficient and effective supply of medicines to patients 6. To receive prescriptions from patients and hospital staff at the reception area 7. To liaise with dispensary staff to prioritise prescriptions in order to aid the workflow in the dispensary and minimise waiting times. 8. To collect appropriate prescription charges from eligible patients and check validity of those claiming exemption from prescription charge according to HSC.1999/082 Countering Fraud in the NHS. 9. To attend to visitors to the Pharmacy Department at the reception area and refer to relevant personnel when necessary, whilst providing cover for the Pharmacy Receptionist. 10. To attend to pharmaceutical company representatives at the reception area, informing them of relevant procedures, whilst providing cover for the Pharmacy Receptionist. 11. To answer the dispensary and other telephones and deal with enquiries or refer to dispensary staff as appropriate, whilst providing cover for the Pharmacy Receptionist. 12. To participate in dispensary & outpatient audits 13. Observe and comply with the procedures and standards of practice of the department. Follow procedures, current legislation and regulations governing the Health and Safety at Work Act and COSHH. Undertake other duties as may reasonably be required for the effective running of the Pharmacy Services. Participate in the extended dispensary services on week days and Saturday, Sundays and Bank Holidays
