The service's remit is improving outcomes for people who have high levels of service utilisation who present with severe personality disorder.
The objectives of the role are to increase the clients’ stability, reduce levels of service utilisation (particularly urgent and unplanned care), broadly improve mental health outcomes, increase the likelihood of the person’s engagement in formal, planned mental health therapy treatments so that discharge may take place in a planned, recovery focused way.

We are looking for someone who holds a Full UK Driving Licence which has been held for over 2 years, this is due to our insurances for driving the minibusses.

You’ll be working 42 hours a week, day shifts only, making a positive difference to the lives of the people in our care at Boden Street, one of our Supported Living Services in the North West.

We support individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and behaviours that challenge. Individuals are supported to hold their own tenancy agreement with a registered housing association. Cheshire East have an exciting opportunity for 2 (FTE) Independent Reviewing Officers to work with our cared for children and young people and care leavers up to the age of 21 years. The post is for 18 months fixed term contract. Whilst the main role is to manage and review Care Plans through the statutory review process. There is also an emphasis on ensuring that services are effective and positively impact on outcomes for the children and Young People of Cheshire East.
The Key role of the Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) will be to chair statutory cared for reviews and pathway plan reviews and to support the timely progression of plans, ensuring permanence options are considered and endorsed at the earliest opportunity. As part of the quality assurance role their will be a requirement to ensure robust safety planning is implemented especially where Missing from Home and Contextual Safeguarding are an added factor.

There will be a requirement to monitor and review the Local Authority’s performance as Corporate Parent, monitoring the appropriateness and implementation of plans, checking that the agreed actions are being progressed and working closely with the local authority and partner agencies to ensure improved outcomes for our children and young people.

The successful candidate will be child centred and work collaboratively with our children and young people to promote their understanding of their plan and ensure they are at the heart of decision making, they will be flexible and committed in their approach and show an ability to work independently as well as supporting the service to evidence consistent and effective practice. There is a requirement to have effective time management in order to support the Key Performance Indicators of the service.

Outside of the key role and responsibilities of the IRO we want to use the skills and knowledge within the service to support the delivery of training and completion of service wide audits which will not only build on working relationships but ensure continuous improvements in service delivery.
