About the Role
Base Location: Perth, Inverness or Aberdeen. A key focus area will be the North of Scotland including the Highlands and Islands, so frequent travel to this area will be required.
Salary: £33,500 - £50,300 + car / allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

SSEN are looking for a Nature Delivery Officer to drive the delivery of Biodiversity Net Gain, Irreplaceable Habitat and other nature commitments, working with external delivery partners and internal teams to co-ordinate projects and programmes. A key focus area will be the North of Scotland including the Highlands and Islands, so frequent travel to this area will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with other members of the Consents & Environment team and external stakeholders to ensure that the projects deliver against business and regulatory targets relating to Biodiversity Net Gain, Irreplaceable Habitats and other nature commitments.
- Manage and establish relationships with key regional delivery partners for third party nature restoration programmes.
- Provide robust and accurate monthly regional Biodiversity Net Gain, Irreplaceable Habitat and other nature target delivery statistics/KPI's for business dashboards. Input into regulatory output reports and incentive submissions for Ofgem.
- Provide technical expertise on project site visits to guide decisions on initial habitat assessments to advise on suitability of projects for Biodiversity Net Gain and Irreplaceable Habitat delivery.
- Track the ongoing delivery and achievement of offsite nature enhancement programmes to ensure longevity of nature interventions.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders, ideally within an infrastructure environment.
- Demonstrable organisational skills and ability to manage large datasets, track progress, analyse data, and report against targets with GIS experience.
- Ability to build and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders through excellent public speaking and communication skills.
- An in depth understanding of national and international biodiversity regulation, a clear understanding of developing nature finance markets, and knowledge of nature in the context of the Scottish planning system.
- Experience running and delivering projects to deliver nature enhancement, particularly practical experience of design, delivery and monitoring of Biodiversity Net Gain projects.
