Financial Oversight:

What You Will Do:

Our finance management consultants help federal clients optimize the operations of their finance organization, including intra-governmental payments and collections, government-wide treasury account symbol reporting, annual financial reporting and helping to meet the ever-changing requirements of federal financial reporting.  This high performing team helps a federal CFO organization identify, design and implement improved processes that transform their finance function and provide lasting change by empowering the federal workforce to sustain improved operations.

What You Will Need:

•  Supports internal and external financial audits; serves as a contact for internal and external auditors.  Provides guidance on financial internal control issues.

Required Qualifications:

•  Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

Reporting to the Senior Director, Accounting Policy and Advisory, the Director, Accounting Policy and Advisory will participate in the development, interpretation and implementation of CIBC’s accounting requirements.  As part of this process you will consult with and obtain input from partners in Finance (including Statutory Reporting, Treasury, the Controllership teams and the CFO group teams), Technology and other impacted business areas. What you'll be doing

In this role you’ll have the opportunity to report to the Director, Internal Audit, Technology Infrastructure and will be expected to have proven experience and knowledge in Technology that includes technology infrastructure and systems, information security, technology systems including Cloud services as well as access and data related controls for CIBC and outsourced technology environments.

You will also have knowledge of auditing practices, procedures and principles that enable you to analyze client operations, assess risks, and select the most suitable audit approach. • Participate and manage execution of audit assignments - Identify and fully understand the key business processes, their inherent risk, and the control environment. Who you are

• You can demonstrate experience in and have in-depth knowledge and understanding of the business, products, risks, processes and related controls within areas of responsibility incl. but not limited to Treasury, Finance and Capital Markets with minimum of 3 years of proven and progressive experience in audit, accounting or other equivalent experience. It’s an asset if you have a professional designation/certification such as CPA, CFA, FRM, CIA.

Job Responsibilities:

• Process invoices/check requests using automated AP system
• Enters vouchers into AP system and reviews for accuracy.  For employee expense reports, make sure all receipts are attached and adheres to policy.

• Assigns correct affiliate/GL account coding to each voucher.  For patient related invoices, verify pay status and determine appropriate reimbursement rates.

• Assigns approver and submits for approval.

• Adds any voucher that requires special attention to the special handling log.

• For new vendors, obtains a copy of the vendors’ W-9 as well as ACH information for proper set-up into the system.

• Communicates with vendors and teams with regards to problems/questions concerning invoices.
• Updates all required logs.
• Reviews system queues/reports to ensure all invoices are being paid in a timely manner.
• Assists with annual 1099 process.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Product Operations Audit team within the Corporate Audit Division (CAD) supports the effective management of regulatory topics relevant to BMO Operations through our audit work and advisory activities. This team audits the back office processes of various departments throughout the organization ensuring compliance with process and procedure resulting in superior management of risk and capital performance and allowing for a more effective and efficient outcome. Your Key Responsibilities:

The Audit Manager is accountable for delivering high-quality audit work of all types across back end operations across the company. You will review, analyze and improve internal operational controls and address operational and financial risks. You will execute on audit assignments and special projects in accordance with the department standards. You will understand the risks being managed by business units and work within established deadlines to meet deliverables.

• Acts as a trusted advisor to assigned business/group.

What You’ll Be Doing

The Capital Markets Accounting Team is responsible for the integrity and timeliness of the Capital Markets business units’ financial reporting.  In this role you will report to the senior manager within the accounting group. You will embody the CIBC’s One Finance Vision and Guiding Principles.

• Accounting and Controls – You drive accurate, complete, and timely inputs to the various reporting groups. You have experience working with various teams to build functioning controls and reconciliations. Inspire adherence to timing in Service Level Agreements and support the investigation and analysis of different methodologies by liaising with the Front Office, CFO group, Accounting Policy, Reporting, Reconciliations, Technology, and Operations teams.

• Relationship management – You have good communication, teamwork, partnership and relationship building skills sufficient to act in a collaborative manner with team members and stakeholders from different backgrounds and experiences. You will liaise daily with Finance, Front Office and other Capital Markets’ stakeholder groups.

• Agility – You have an innovative mindset and look for ways to implement enhancements to support agile accounting processes and controls. Ensure changes in accounting policies/requirements are implemented in a controlled manner. Maintain adequate end to end process maps and detailed task manuals in accordance with best practices, regulatory requirements, SOX, and Internal Controls.

Who You Are

• You’re a certified professional. You have current accreditation and good standing in CPA, or working towards your CPA designation, with 3+ years of relevant work experience. MBA or CFA is an asset.

• You can demonstrate experience in Capital Markets accounting, in order to support the oversight and governance functions. This includes enhancement of financial controls across multiple groups. You have strong knowledge of IFRS and Financial Reporting requirements for Financial Instruments. You understand interest rate products, repos/rev repos, bonds, cross currencies, forwards, and other vanilla and non-standard derivative transactions. It’s an asset if you have experience in automating manual processes such as with VBA, Alteryx or visualizing data using Tableau or PowerBI.
